But is there any scientific way he could be at Wrestlemania?

You know they say all men are created equal, but you look at me and you look at me appearing at Wrestlemania and you can see that statement is NOT TRUE! See, normally if you go one-on-one with another wrestler you got a fifty/fifty chance of winning. But I'm a genetic freak, and I'm not normal! So you got a 25 percent at best at beat me! And then you add Wrestlemania to the mix? You-the chances of winning drasticy go down. See, the main event at Wrestlemania, you got a 33 and a third chance of winning. But I! I got a 66 and two thirds chance of turning up, cuz Kurt Angle KNOOOWS he can't see me, and he's not even gonna try. So, with a Wrestlemania appearance, you take your thirty three and a third chance minus my twenty five percent chance (if we was to go one on one) and you got an eight and a third chance of me being at Wrestlemania. But then you take my 75 perchance-chance of winnin' (if we was to go one on one), and then add 66 and two thirds…percents, I got a 141 2/3 chance of appearing at Wrestlemania! Señor Joe? The numbers don't lie, and they spell disaster for you at Wrestlemania!

I'm sure WWE's bummed about it but there's no way he'll stop production of a show where he's star to potentially get injured. He can send through a video message or something of that sort. I don't see an obvious match for him at this year's show anyways.

He might be swerving but there's no reason for him to go, especially with no crowd. Why risk injury when his career is doing so well?
On a side note, I always thought he'd be one of those sad old guys I pity for not being able to retire but he's managed to move on before he embarrassed himself like Taker or Goldberg.

Yeah, I’m sure HBO Max has too much staked in Peacemaker to have him go to a state with terrible COVID policies and risk the whole production on either injury or infection so that makes sense.

It's funny, everyone saw how completely Cena would go all-out for WWE at every possible opportunity and assumed he'd just keep doing that forever, when instead first chance he got he went, "Whew, I'm glad I don't have to do that anymore!"

Crud. Cena avenging his win back from Fiend would be a potential fun encounter.

Imean he is still years younger the sell by date of Taker and Goldberg so we can still see

It was awesome at the time and I think will be remembered by the fans, but I suspect that match won't be brought up ever again in storyline terms. Same goes for the Swamp Fight.

I feel like it theoretically wouldn't be that hard for him to do a cinematic match - arrange a shooting location and a crew, send the opponent and a small handful of people out to oversee things whenever you get a weeks to spare, edit the footage for use at Mania.

Honestly, no point of him showing up till Mania 38 when there will most likely be a full crowd

That's the exact thing he'd say if he was gonna be there.
I mean completely fair if he's not though, there's a pandemic, he has better jobs to do, nothing to prove, and if he needs an excuse I'm pretty sure The Fiend was implied to have actually erased him from existence last year.
