Specifically the Ddt streaming service that has Tjpw. Further down the joshi rabbit hole I go. Maki is to blame.

Don’t forget, you also get NOAH on that service.
I desperately need to catch up with DDT Universe, but pandemic life has me simultaneously feeling like I have too much down time and yet constantly on edge about how I’m using that time and it’s hard to get into a rhythm with all the available wrestling to watch. I need to pick a solid point for jumping back in to all the big promotions in there.

For all the shows/companies you get access to, DDT Universe is a steal.
If you are only just looking into TJPW, I suggest last years Wrestle Princess as a good starting point. Some great matches, and pretty much sets up how 2021 is going.
Oh, and look up Hyper Misao vs Jun Kasai at some point.

Hope you like it! TJPW is a really fun promotion. It's not my favorite or anything but it's a consistently entertaining show. It gets a lot of rep as the "non workrate joshi promotion", which is true to a point because many of the girls have only been training/wrestling for a while, with a few having mostly idol or modeling backgrounds, and a larger focus on characters and story telling. The lower parts of the card can often be a turn-off for people who are expecting hard hitting joshi epics, because of the lack of experience some have. I think they are just as fun once you figure it out though. The top halves of the card can be really good though. If you are looking for a good place to start, as suggested, Wrestle Princess from last year was considered one of their shows of the year, and the main event of Yuka vs. Mizuki is a MOTY favorite for many. It carries over into 2021 with storytelling for the whole card. After that be sure to watch the Korakuen Hall show from January 4th, it's a good show in general, but if you like Maki Itoh, it has maybe her best match yet. If you need some setup, a guy on reddit named Heerokun does primers before every big show. He actually has one for the whole promotion but it is outdated (has a couple wrestlers who are no longer with the promotion etc here: www.reddit.com/r/TJPW/comments/gvp9a3/the_beginners_guide_to_tokyo_joshi_pro_wrestling/)A helpful more visual alternate is this thread someone did previewing the January 4th show I recommended, as it links to a gif/image of each wrestler by name doing a move in it: www.reddit.com/r/stardomjoshi/comments/kp9v0y/tomorrow_night_at_930_pm_est_630_pm_pst_tjpws/Similarly, this Twitter thread gives a short intro on most members (with a couple that have departed): twitter.com/watnowmaddie/status/1290626555077464065?s=19The official DDT Twitter page live translates everything into English so that's a good supplement if you don't know what is going on: twitter.com/ddtpro_engThat's probably too much info, but hope you find something you like! One of my favorite things about TJPW (aside from the ring announcer, Namba) is how distinct the roster looks:

Yeah, the reason I went for Tjpw over Stardom was primarily because of both Maki and as well as many of the AEW joshi being from there. The company may be made up of girls still cutting their teeth compared to Stardom, but I love the wild and free attitude of Tjpw. Just catching a glimpse of Sakisama while first watching the streams has got me further intrigued

One of my favorite things about TJPW is you can see the development of the wrestlers from literally their first match ever, which really makes you feel good when someone you liked early turns into someone pretty good. I had that with Tenma Nodoka, and it seems like everyone's having that with Obvious Future Superstar Mirai. I currently have very good feelings about Suzume. I encourage you to pick a couple of rookies to follow.
I have never been entertained by Rika Tatsumi, so I'm not really into the big programs now (though Miu Watanabe's okay, I guess). But I can't deny the matches have been pretty good the past few months across the board, and Rika's not a small part of that. (Nothing's as amazing as Mei Saint-Michel, though. Mei is just the best at everything.)

Especially with youtube vids from JoShizzle giving very detailed explanations about wrestler's histories and story lines. The fact that so many of the girls have idol backgrounds doesn't deter my personal tastes since I like idol music (although I can see why it would be a fault). Overall I just like how the promotion feels like a live action anime.

Well, this is interesting. They said they had an English announcement and it's this: www.ddtpro.com/news/15634Essentially, a twice a week all English 15 minute show with a TJPW match on Wrestle Universe that will have English commentary by Chris Brookes and Baliyan Akki. Afterwards the featured wrestlers will try to speak English in interviews and even Namba (!) will make announcements in English. That may sound a bit small but to be honest it's really taxing to get a lot of wrestlers who really don't have much English knowledge to do that for even 15 minutes, and commendable for the effort. Also helps them to focus on parts of the roster per show.

So how'd it go. Easy to follow? I'm thinking TJPW and DDT is a good deal (used to watch Noah but not really for me). The mix of goofyness and srs is appealing and it has Maki.
Also thinking of trying Stardom.
I assume they both have the stupid calendar month billing system njpw use so trying to work out what's best in May, might depend on what if any big events they have.
But I even found njpw hard to follow (as in working out the shows worth watching) so not sure how I'll cope with little/no English language.

Whole show was good. Well worth the 3:30am start for me. I’m glad Hikari is taking the next step up the card. I also think with a little more seasoning Yuki Arai will be good.

Oh man, I'm definitely going to Wrestle Princess II now! ASUKA's (Veny) first TJPW appearance, Riho returning, and Aja Kong on top of the three big title matches. Excited. There's also English commentary again for anybody wondering.
Also I kinda love these cheesey but cool comic book card graphics lol:

I was looking forward to Wrestle Princess anyways, but now the whole card has been released I’m hyped. One of my all time favourites and one of my current favourites are teaming up in Moka/Aja, and I’m very interested in how the main event will go. Personally, I think it’s too soon for Maki, but then I also won’t be too upset if she does win the PoP.

I'm very sad we won't get another Raku/Aja team, but if anyone from the rookies should team with Aja Kong, Moka is the greatest option.

Just got to my seat, lot more Itoh shirts than usual but not so surprisingly Noah’s new one seems to be the favorite. The main is a guaranteed win because either Itoh gets her crowning moment or they pull a WK12 and Miyu beats her only to set up Itoh beating Mizuki for the title instead.
What I’m here for is ASUKA(Veny) and Kamiyu teaming though!
