I cannot stand the 'x wrestler beat up y wrestler, so now they take their spot'. Firstly, this isn't a thing in any other match so why does it apply here? Secondly, in kayfabe it promotes a dangerous working environment[/hbk], & thirdly, why aren't there like, 20 wrestlers waiting around backstage to jump number 30?

One of my most despised is the spot where two face partners just start wailing away at each other instead of, you know, trying to work together as a team. The concept of "Everyman for himself" brainwashes faces and exposes them as idiots. You better believe if my tag partner/friend cheapshots me during the Rumble the team is dissolved. Only exception being Demolition being numbers 1 and 2 who whale on each other and as soon as number 3 came out they immediately started teaming again Billy and Bart in '95 Rumble act like total strangers the entire time they're in the match, and then start fighting out of the blue. They were eliminated by two heels immediately. Bad booking. Idiot cowboys.

I can't stand when they do the spot where someone gets "hurt" and have them out of the match only for them to come back near the end, or someone rolls to the outside and camps out the entire match. It's even worse when they have a face do it because it kills all legitimacy for them. It also kills any good moment for the final 4/2 because you know about said person who was "taken out of the match".

It made him look so dumb especially with Yokozuna (who ended up eliminating Quake) still not having entered yet.

It's funny in a, man how stupid are these big idiots, way. When Rumble tropes collide!

The fact that Quake went straight for Typhoon I thought implied that there was some fall out with them behind the scenes (kayfabe that is) and a fued was going to begin. Did anything ever come out of that falling out? No story, fued or house show matches?

They did split afterwards although that was only because Quake left, so I guess it was used to explain their split. I know Quake was better and had the past main event run with Hogan so I get why they would want him to be the guy that stayed as it would be more impressive for Yoko to put him out instead of Typhoon, but it's still odd that they had him get the better of Typhoon when Typhoon was the one that was sticking around. Even before the Rumble they were both working a lot of single matches, usually putting over the new big fat guys on the block, Yoko and Bam Bam. I do remember Gorilla and Heenan speculating about them having having a falling out between the scenes. However Quake's body language afterwards seemed to indicate they were going more "hey every man for himeself nothing personal".

I am so tired of the "two feet" spot these days. Every Rumble, someone finds a new way to lay on the floor without their feet touching the ground. It looks ridiculous. I don't mind it if they're clever or if there is some spectacle to it... but then they start doing things like well the Pancakes are on the floor so I didn't touch the floor! type stuff which is clearly we had the idea for the cheerleader launch and couldn't figure out how to pull that off without Kofi having two feet on the floor. When you are getting that f***ing pedantic I want a heel wrestler to argue that he's wearing shoes! So his feet aren't touching the floor! cause it's just about the same level. I haaaaaaaaate how much they've used the rolling-under-the-ropes-so-you're-not-involved-in-the-match-but-also-not-eliminated business over the recent years. This by far is the worst thing they do. They use it literally every time they do a battle royale... and then they do it at the Royal Rumble like every year it's awful... hell I remember the first Women's Royal Rumble was ESPECIALLY bad at this as there were times that NO ONE was in the ring but there were like 10 people still technically in the match...

One I like: a lot of people accuse this of being a feature in more “boring” Rumbles, but I like when there’s a couple people in the corner and one guy is just ramming his shoulder into another, or a similar type of basic brawling spot. It’s a match based around wearing down your opponents and trying to toss them out, it just makes it feel more like a real contest and fight.
Don’t like? For one, I don’t like the Wrestlemania title match being attached to it, since it’s (kayfabe) insane to book the main event of your biggest show of the year around a match built on luck and chaos, and (non-kayfabe) it severely limits how many potential winners there really can be.
Also not a fan of the “run in, hit a few spots while most of the other wrestlers lie in a corner, take a bump, nap in the corner til the next guy is in” spot. They seemed to be better about it in the last rumble I saw, but it’s still their default layout for the match and it’s really dull.
Eh, and yeah: if you need to work in “main character wrestler enters the rumble early, but needs a chance to rest so he can be there at the end, so find a way for him to rest for a long chunk of the match”, then here’s a thought: DON’T BOOK THEM TO ENTER AT SUCH AN EARLY NUMBER IF YOU WANT THEM THERE AT THE END.

I hate how every year they go on about #1 being the unluckiest draw. #2 is the worst pick as the #1 gets the chance to cheap shot the #2 entrant as they enter.
They will also bring up Shawn going the distance in 1995 but never mention it was only one minute between entrants that year. I know the other guy (until this year) to enter at #1 and win is never mentioned for obvious reasons but Shawn’s achievement is less impressive when you consider the facts (and that the list of competitors in the 95 Rumble is weaker than Nun’s piss).

One of my least favorite elements is when someone is eliminated by a person that either was already out of the Rumble, or wasn't even part of the Rumble.
This was because, in 1996, Shawn Michaels had to win, so they handwaved Vader tossing everyone by going "Oh, he was gone, so those eliminations didn't count". Well, what about Hogan eliminating the Big Boss Man or Giant Gonzales eliminating Undertaker?
Another is when people get beat up or incapacitated, never being official entrants, and they couldn't bother springing for alternates just to keep at an even 30? This started in 1991 where Macho King Randy Savage apparently "fled" the arena, but it didn't really become notable until 1994, where it was implied that Bret Hart might not make the Rumble and it turned out the guy who missed his cue was Bastion Booger, who was the lowest guy on the roster at that point anyway.

Also... both #1 and #2 begin at the same time, so why is it that only #1 is unlucky? #2 also starts the match. Finally, there's the usage of math in promos. This was something that was very common in the early days of the Rumble, but wasn't featured as much. A wrestler isn't going to eliminate 29 other opponents by himself (even though Brock Lesnar tried his hardest in 2020), and it's worse when they bungled the math and come up with 30 or more opponents they'll face (like Kane in 2006).

Another is the the Luger and Bret spot at the end of the rumble which they’ve tried at least twice(cena and Batista the other time) because it’s very hard to get right. I think the key to the execution that time was doing it on the side away from the hard cam, and having the ground camera guys well timed to have the apron in the way so we can't see the feet hitting. The Cena and Batista one being on the ramp side and having cameras pointed directly at it really screwed them up. I actually like how the referees covered for the botch, with the Raw refs raising Batista’s hand and the SD refs raising Cena’s.

I just hate when the intervals are less than 90 seconds because they have to rush through it.

I drives me wild whenever a strong wrestler would press his opponent over his head but instead of tossing the guy over the ropes like a smart man he just drops the guy back on the mat.
Or as I like to call it "The Davey Boy Smith."

I'm pretty sure a Topé would get you eliminated from the Rumble it's an over the top Con Giro!
...Oh, I read that wrong.
Well, I, too, am tired of Kofi 'didn't-hit-the-floor' spots and skinning the cat [especially from Ziggler, who pulled it out multiple times in recent Rimbles].

I always love the guy that comes in and gets tossed out in seconds better if they run in like a bull, always gets me laughing. Santino doing that and breaking the record never gets old I didn't really like that. I get why they had Santino break Warlord's record, because of course he would. But, to me, Warlord's elimination was funnier because you wouldn't expect him to get eliminated in 2 seconds. He came in looking ready to dominate, and then boom, he's out.

I swear every year I get excited for the Rumble because of nostalgia, then I spend the whole time being irritated by all of the annoying tropes:
- Tossing someone over the ropes and immediately walking off, assuming you've eliminated them.
- Leaning over the top rope to taunt someone you've eliminated and being eliminated yourself.
- Rolling out of the ring and being allowed to go back in whenever.
- The two feet rule. If you're laying on your f***ing back, you should be out of the match.

My favorite Rumble trope is when a big name gets eliminated by someone didn't expect. Heath Slater eliminating Sheamus in 2018 was great. Drew McIntyre eliminating Brock Lesnar was the best because I seriously thought that Brock was either gonna win that Rumble or Cain Velasquez was going to show up and throw him out. Drew taking him out was a great surprise.
Least favorite Rumble trope: someone getting taken out of the match and then coming back several minutes later. It sucks because some guy gets to be the Iron Man despite spending most of the time out of the match. That time out of the match shouldn't count. Also, people rolling out of the ring to take a breather and come back is just lame and little bit cheating. Can't they just have the person lay down on the mat holding onto the bottom rope, like Road Dogg in 2000? People just laying outside of the ring without being eliminated makes it hard to keep track of who's in the match. That was really bad in the 2018 Women's Rumble.

Final elimination never occurs against the hard camera
Telegraphed eliminations like charging against a guy leaned on ropes, reversed powerslam, choke on apron, guest appearances being treated as jokes and never even eliminate anyone
