What are some of your favorite and least favorite Royal Rumble tropes? I was never a fan of partners getting back to back numbers in the rumble, it’s fine if it’s occasionally but if it’s too much it really breaks believability. On the other hand I’ve always been a sucker for a heel being alone in the ring and someone he doesn’t want to fight comes out next (Flair/Piper in 92, Austin/Hart in 1997)
Any other ones you love or hate?

I am so tired of the "two feet" spot these days. Every Rumble, someone finds a new way to lay on the floor without their feet touching the ground. It looks ridiculous.

I have an easier time listing the ones I hate, and I'm someone who looks forward to the Rumble match every year. My least favorite being the one where someone who's already been eliminated (or isn't even in the match) runs in and eliminates one of the participants.

I always love the guy that comes in and gets tossed out in seconds better if they run in like a bull, always gets me laughing.

If your body is out of the ring, you're out. It was nice for a pop in the early days of Kofi doing it but Kofi and now Naomi are only ever in it to do that spot

I haaaaaaaaate how much they've used the rolling-under-the-ropes-so-you're-not-involved-in-the-match-but-also-not-eliminated business over the recent years.

One of my most despised is the spot where two face partners just start wailing away at each other instead of, you know, trying to work together as a team.
The concept of "Everyman for himself" brainwashes faces and exposes them as idiots. You better believe if my tag partner/friend cheapshots me during the Rumble the team is dissolved.

It would be less dumb if heels didn't sometimes work together and thusly succeed, including Orton using this method to actually win the thing in 09

I think was 1997 or 98…but the Nation was like 4 of the final 8, and just kept beating each other up. Clearly it was because none of them were gonna win, but they all looked SOOOO stupid.

I would've loved to have seen two lifelong friends, like Benoit and Eddie, get into a Rumble and help each other to the final two. A moment like that would make for a memorable RR, but nope, WWE has to book babyfaces to be dum-dums.

The rule should be if you get knocked outside, you have 10 seconds to get back in the ring or you are eliminated automatically.

The biggest pop of the decade would result if Vince read that rule 2 minutes before the match started. So tired of trying to keep track of who slid out of the ring and took a nap

So tired of trying to keep track of who slid out of the ring and took a nap I've had the same idea before but with the added part of: You only get the 10 count once, the second time you leave the ring, you're eliminated straight away. The only issue with this would be keeping track of who's left the ring once, and would eventually be used by a heel to cheat a win.

That annoyed me since they had previously established a rule that if you don't make it to the ring before the next entrant, you're automatically eliminated. I had the same problem with the Billie Kay shenanigans this past year. Though it's the Royal Rumble and the rules change from year to year.

Throwing someone over the top and turning your back assuming they went out of the ring. Not only is it overused but it’s incredibly illogical and makes the person who did it look like a total moron.

I know for sure at one point it was not making it to the ringside area after you number was called (91 with Savage, 94 with Bastion Booger, 98 with Skull of DOA). I think as long as you come through the curtain and make it towards the ringside area you're OK like Billie Kay, Nunzio in 04, Heath Slater, etc.
