In other words you want me to not question, or demand better from the people who I pay to entertain me, and just consume. Jesus, dude, he didn’t say that at all. He literally said your point of being annoyed they have new characters. And those are some red flag buzzwords you’re saying about a video game you absolutely do not have to play. Just…come on, now. Right. Sorry It's just when I read something I always assume the worst interpretation of what they are saying.

I’m only just saying this because things like this can get bigger and lead to stuff on here down the line and I don’t want that; take a break. Do something else, play something, breathe in and out. You can control your emotions with this stuff and I really don’t want you to get in trouble.

I've overstayed my welcome.

All of this freaking out all over the internet when the old Saints are probably just going to show up in the after credits scene to set up a combined sequel.

Lord that comments section is a cesspool of barely concealed, "Boo, why are there people in it who aren't white!" It's like they've never played a Saints Row game before since the overwhelming majority of the Saints wasn't white in any of the games.

I mean like the two most important ones from the original (save for the PC) were Johnny Gat and Julius Little.

The biggest complaints I’ve seen from people are that the logo isn’t purple and the characters aren’t gangsta enough.

Unless I forgot someone from SR1 and 2.

I always thought she was mixed or Latina, but apparently she's white. Huh.

I'm just waiting for all the no-doubt tragic backstories that are going to tell us how these kids turned to a life of crime. Latte can't be that expensive, right?
And it's almost as if that first trailer was designed to trigger people.

So, from some of the still shots in the trailers, it turns out at least two of the classic in-game stores are getting re-branded.
Freckle Bitch's, the fast food franchise and blatant Wendy's parody, has been shortened to "FB's", and Rim Jobs, the autobody shops where you could customize your vehicles, have been renamed to Jim Rob's.
It kinda seems like Volition are potentially trying to "sanitize" Saints Row, which, considering it's a series built in its raunchy humour and over-the-top ridiculousness, might end up turning away more fans than they bring in.

I’ve been a fan of the Saints Row series for years and I never knew the fan base was this toxic. I mean yeah, they've always been this way, and sure, it was critically panned but Agents of Mayhem never even had a chance from the first trailer. They were never going except another fresh start. Saint's Row also has the problem that the Resident Evil games have where the fanbase is split on which games ruined the series. Some like 1&2 for being solid GTA alternatives, and think 3 made the series too goofy. Others like 3 the best and think 4 is where things went off the rails. You can't please everyone and until the game comes out, it's just going to be a lot of infighting and people loudly hoping it suceeds/fails. Hell, Horizon 2 is coming out the week before, so the game could check all the right boxes and still underperform.

Also watching bits of gameplay, I can't wait for the pastel colored explosions fad to go away already.

And these are just what can be considered trivial changes but a definet warning sign for fans of the previous games where they are taking this series now. I get wanting to try new things but sanitizing a game that was built on its rauchyness and crude humor likely isn't going to end well.

I actually played the games in reverse order so I started the series at 4 and made my way backwards. I don’t think I’ve ever played any other game as much as I’ve played Saints Row 4.

I thought Saints Row 4 was really fun. I liked Zinyak as the major antagonist of the game, and I also liked how you took on gangs from the previous games. Saints Row 2 will always be my favorite of the series, but Saints Row 4 is a very close second.

Oh and the developers are doing the same passive aggressive "This is what we are doing, like it or not." bullcrap pretty much every artist does in response to criticism. Good. The sense fans have been given by social media that they have ownership of entertainment franchises is, by and large, a very negative thing. It discourages innovation, changing anything, doing anything unsafe. If people don't like what the new Saint's Row games are, then they don't have to buy them. That's absolutely their right. But they also don't have anything to complain about. They got the previous games. It was a transaction. The creators do not owe them anything.
