The chances of any meaningful punishment of Vince or anything industry-shaking are slim to none and Slim got booked to job to Karrion Kross next week. And I will leave it at that.

This reads like something you'd hear in one of those daytime TV ads.

This reads like something you'd hear in one of those daytime TV ads. I've seen this exact tweet before during the commercial break for The People's Court, sandwiched between an ad for seniors' car insurance and an ad for a grilled cheese maker that has bluetooth functionality.

Yeah, sort of has to be said, it does seem like this guy has a bit more credibility and has been a nuisance for UFC for a while and honestly, any dude that annoys Dana White is alright in my book.

NLRB as of just last month is under new Democratic leadership which can be helpful to those trying to be classified as employees in order to unionize. This lawyer has represented a fighter who wanted to organize a union and filed a complaint against the UFC with the NLRB alleging anti-union retaliation. However, the NLRB at that time (a few years ago) decided the UFC did not take adverse action against her and so they punted on deciding whether or not UFC talent count as employees or independent contractors.
With different leadership in place, it may be possible for some of these fights to go the other way but it would be a long process.
There’s also the question of whether talent even wants to be classified as employees and/or unionize. There are pros and cons on both sides.

So, if I’ve got this correct… The end goal if this thing gets overturned is that WWE either:
A) Are forced to give their wrestlers employee benefits in order to maintain exclusivity of their service B) Are forced to give up talent exclusivity and make them truly independent contractors, opening up any and all current WWE wrestlers to be able to take bookings for other promotions while under a WWE contract

There are likely many other things WWE could change to make it more likely that the balancing test comes out in favor of them being independent contractors before they would just let them work elsewhere whenever they wanted.

Most likely WWE makes some concessions of things like Twitch and the like and it goes away.

Well unlike his election bids, I hope he wins this one.

This could be interesting.
I'm always interested in seeing more of WWE's practices get actual legal challenges, as sometimes they do seem to get away with things just because no one challenges legally.
Be interesting to see who gets involved and if it's anyone still remotely active, how that impacts their use anywhere else, as I dont think it's just WWE who wouldn't really want to have to offer actual employment benefits to everyone

I'd be more inclined to believe something would come of this had Yang not blown all of his political capital in the past few months. Given the rumours circulating about his future ambitions, I don't think he has the clout needed for much to come of this.

I used to like Yang but after how he turned his slamdunk of a run for NYC Mayor and nosedive his popularity and clout. Dunno if I can really trust him to do the right thing and follow through.

Doubt anything comes of this but the last year or so of wrestling has been all about things you never thought would happen so we’ll see I guess
