Is there any logic in the pacing of the shows like this, I posted my rant in the rate sd thread also lol, but watching Raws and Smackdowns within the last year since their weird switch to this entrance of wrestler, commercial/recap/backstage then to entrance of opponent, then the match begins makes zero sense to me for the fans in attendance and on TV. Then I read on reddit from fans in attendance saying the lights are dimmed out, the wrestler is just standing there while commercials are playing on the screen. Doesn't seem to make for a good experience for anyone involved...
As shit as this must have been to watch at home, I can only imagine how pissed the live audience was. For almost half an hour, they watched Sami Zayn watch backstage segments, and their main event was a total squash. My first thought was that this shit would barely fly in the Thunderdome, which only reminds me they just got live crowds back this year. To think, this company used to pride itself on "sending the fans home happy". It may not happen immediately, but I think in the future this year will be looked at in particular for WWE having an easy, t-ball level shot to hit with live fans returning and whiffed it with the bizarre lack of content stretches like Sami's last Friday and going all in on misery booking. They had an audience ready and willing to be back and play along and have fun and WWE went, And I think eventually it's gonna really hurt them especially with this kind of show being their comeback tour.

It took 15 minutes for the main event to start from the time Becky came out to when the bell rang.

Seriously... think about Mania... the first show back... big energy ready to go crazy... and the face loses by looking like an idiot! and the show ends with the dominating heel who never loses stacks up both of his opponents and treats them like their worthless... assuring no one is happy going in or going out!

He also cut a promo and then had an extended confrontation/beatdown by Lesnar during that time.

The recaps and backstage segments should be kept separate and not after someone has already made his entrance for a match, though.

I wonder if the "thing then OTHER THING then more thing THEN ANOTHER THING" is Vince's attention span diminishing now as he continues to mentally unravel and further becomes a detriment to the making of his own show. The normal structure where more shit doesn't get crammed in doesn't hold his attention, and if it's not holding his attention then surely it's broken and has to be fixed.

I think it’s another attempt at coming up with a device to keep people tuning in when there are commercials and backstage segments coming up. Like when they first started doing the entrance and then go to commercial break like they do all the time now. Or that short period of time where they decided not to have any in-ring action during commercial breaks.
