5 pages and nobody mentioned this - showdown at Wrestlemania VII between The Ultimate Warrior and Randy "Macho Man" Savage was billed as a career ending match. However, Ultimate Warrior would be gone from the company not even 6 months later, while Savage stayed with them for three and a half more years.

Jonathan Good (Moxley) has had multiple matches for NJPW, but none to date have been against EVIL.

Here's another irony. When Scott Simpson was trying to sell his character(Nikita Koloff) as really Russian, he actually learned the language and refused to speak English both on AND off camera, even going as far as getting an interpreter, which extended to his day to day routine including renting his apartment.
So, to be clear, he was pretending to be fluent in a language he was still learning, while pretending to be learning a language in which he was fluent in.

Sad irony, but I think it counts. The earliest surviving whole Survivor Series team is from 1988 which consists of Jake Roberts, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, Ken Patera, Scott Casey, and Tito Santana lost to the earliest team where all members are deceased which was Andre "The Giant", Dino Bravo, Rick Rude, Mr. Perfect, and Harley Race(Bravo and Perfect survived).
For more sad irony, Harley Race was the first one eliminated at the event, but was the most recent member on that team to pass.

Is it ironic that smarks dont think they are marks or is it just coincidence? A guy I knew explained that smarks and marks were actually the opposite of one another in reality. A mark is an old term that con men used to swindle an unknowing bystander out of their money. Maybe this would apply wrestling fans 100 years ago, but everyone knows it's staged now. But it's the smarks who are the passionate fans that continue to remain while any casual marks left years ago. So despite knowing they're getting swindled at the Three Card Monty table, they keep shelling their money out believing that it will pay out eventually despite it being rigged in the dealer's favor.
