Roddy Piper for me. He was a charismatic, confident talked, but so was Enzo and I didn't want him anywhere near the title either. His commentary was enjoyment-ruining for me.

Savage on commentary. Undertaker in most phases of his career, although I loved Bully Booger Red Taker, circa 2002. Spare me the Deadman stuff. He was naturally a mean, redneck biker.
Val Venis in general. The double entendres were his main thing, and they got old immediately. So did "the Big Valbowski." Just lame - especially when they tried to actually make that his ring name for a time. His alignment was always flip-flopping, depending on who he was feuding with, and his ring work honestly wasn't all that great. It never felt to me like he was at the level of the other guys as a performer. It was all a gimmick to make 15-year-old boys (and Russo/Dunn/Vince) giggle.

Scott Steiner “BIg Poppa Pump” - I just never could stand his incoherent rambles, and shoot comments. Every era Scott Steiner for me. He looked good and had some good looking moves but to me the guy just seemed dangerous and self-indulgent.

To name a few: Hulk Hogan - never, ever, ever cared for the guy I wanted to say Hogan but I have love/hate with him. As a child, I found him to be a selfish prick based on his conduct with Orndorff, Andre, and then Savage. Yet, passionately rooting against him really got me invested in pro wrestling. I still find him annoying af and dislike him as a human being, but I'm simultaneously entertained by his nonsense.

Asuka. She's a great wrestler but the constant shouting drives me nuts. I agree with everyone who said Sable, too. I was watching some Attitude Era a while back and I'd forgotten how bad she was. It wasn't ALL on her, it was just some of the weird decisions that surrounded her. First Vinnie Mac and Vince decided that she was supposed to be the face to the WWF Women's Division at the time. It was her choice in failing to learn the ropes and the business. She didn't want to improve her skill set. Her stupid dance with zero rhythm, her terrible choice in makeup, her horrible mic work with zero charisma, and her refusal to improve her in-ring work; that was all on her. If she flat out refused to train harder and become a legitimate wrestler, I wouldn't have wasted time with her beyond that. For them to continue to push her to the forefront, that was a poor decision that was all on management and bookers. Simply put, management and bookers fed into her ego and thusly, it gave her the drive to not improve anything she was doing.

Bill Alfonso, if you look at it as everyone else saying "He's doing such a good job as a heel." True but I HAD to fast forward any time he did a promo. I actually preferred the whistle!

Last time I watched WWE somewhat regularly, they were heavily featuring James Elsworth (so 2016 I think). I think that may have been my start of feeling distanced from the product as everyone seemed to think he was hilarious because...he looked weird? I just thought he looked like a creep (and wouldn't you know, turned out to be one!). Also kind of funny that in AEW people complain about Marko Stunt not being believable, but this dude was having competive matches with AJ Styles.

I put Alfonso on a list of people, along with Harvey Wippleman, Judge Jeff Jones, Jason, Yamaguchi-San and a few others, where I just don't understand what anyone saw in them to make them personalities in a televised wrestling promotion.

Randy Orton and The Miz. They are the most “WWE” wrestlers to ever “WWE” wrestle.
I get why they have their fans but doesn’t mean I want them boring / annoying me for 15-20 years.

I guess he could do good promos? Yet I don't recall any significant moment with the mic. I guess he looked the part? Again, a lot of guys back then "looked the part" for the WWF. Then over the course of 30 years, he never cared to improve or adapt in the ring. It was the big boot and leg drop. At least John Cena eventually evolved his in-ring work.

Debra. I never saw what she brought to the table, other than a willingness to wear skimpy bikinis. She didn't have the charisma of a Sunny or even a Sable and wasn't even good as a valet either. I think the importance of valets is deeply unappreciated these days, but she was terrible.

DX in 1998, the young bucks and Eddie guerrero.
I'm not trying to speak ill of the dead but I was never interested in anything eddie did, no offense to his fans. No Way Out 04 was the first ppv I skipped ordering with my friends since I had access to ppv in 2002

Nikita Koloff was one of the most boring and overrated acts. Hated his ring work. His promos were laughable. He also wasn't nearly as big or imposing as they tried to sell him. Only time I liked him was on the ring apron while his "uncle" did all the heavy lifting.
Arn Anderson annoys me as well. His promos in particular. He's like the big mouth who can talk himself into being the most badass dude on the planet as if we haven't seen him get his ass handed to him hundreds of times.

I felt like 1989 and beyond Piper was pretty useless. He wouldn't lose by pinfall, it always had to be a DQ, countout aside from the Bret loss when he was leaving WWF. It ruined some good PPVs and feuds when he returned and I think Vince had no choice but to put him on commentary with Jesse gone BUT also Roddy not wanting to lose clean. I know he was a great family man and kind to the fans and I respect that but the lack of respect for his fellow wrestlers in not wanting to lose to them and also his over the top commentary were a bit much. I do think he was a really great actor. Even though he wasn't a major star he usually was put in really good roles and pulled them off well and was believable.

WWF era Hacksaw Duggan. I was a fan of his in Mid South when I first got into wrestling and he was the top babyface. He had an ass kicking edge to him & would only bust out the 2x4 when he needed an equalizer. Post arrest, WWF just made him a goof chanting USA and his equalizing weapon was just a prop.
Realizing that none of this was his fault, but he was a channel changer for me back in the day.
