Boogeyman is a standout gimmick that has always sort of had a place in wrestling, but Charles Wright is 57, and he wasn't a good worker over a decade ago... Martin, Martin Wright is the Boogeyman. Charles Wright is the Godfather (or Papa Shango if we keep SPOOKY gimmicks)

Right, and they are actually related I believe I don't believe they are. But they do share a love of riding fluffy animals in empty shopping malls.

I'm guessing they lost Snitsky's number Maybe they did contact him but the military surplus business was too lucrative for him to step away from.

Boogeyman is a standout gimmick that has always sort of had a place in wrestling, but Charles Wright is 57, and he wasn't a good worker over a decade ago... Hah, everyone else has noted the Charles/Marty difference now, but I'd just like to add that, if anything, Charlie was a bit underrated. Sure, he's not going to have a 5 star Tokyo Dome classic, but in the right gimmick (cough the one gimmick) his charisma was so strong it actively passed onto other wrestlers just by connection, and he could have fun matches with the right opponents. Also he was a pretty decent big guy in a tag team, those RtC/Hardys matches are far more fun than they had any right to be. Also his win/loss record in 98/99 was so protected that there was a genuine disbelief online when Jericho straight up pinned him clean around October 99. The sort of thing that just can't happen today in WWE with their booking - but is possible in AEW.

Ny money is on there being another round of cuts coming so they're signing 'legends' to dust off on a threadbare post cut show, and so 2k have uncuttable talent for the videogame, guy they can work on who won't be dropped as they're not full time.

I hope they put Boogey in the Hall of Fame.
The idea of Boogeyman getting in before Undertaker tickles me.

In the grand scheme of things, I don't mind this. Boogeyman is a very basic wrestler, leaning heavily on the gimmick, but I feel there's a place for that. More concerning, obviously, is them dipping into the well rather than investing in their future, or bullshit like the Ali situation.

I noticed the number of late 2000's / early 2010's i.e. Johnny Ass signed womens talent at this years RR. I guess they'll be bringing in more of the male talent from his first highly successful (🙄) run as head of talent relations in the future. Be looking forward to the returns of Ricky Ortiz and Eric Escobar coming soon! Thanks Johnny! You useless stooge. ☝
