Program Job Developer
My role is to make sure the adolescents (and adults alike… the ungrateful bastards) work at a place of business for at least 90 days toward permanent employment. The job is mired in boredom one part of the year (Winter) and ridiculously hectic in the other (Spring & Summer)
I like my job. Though I do often times wonder how a CompSci major got this job.

Kinda fell into it really, was studying for a business degree at Uni and started working part time in a bookies to fund the alcoh....sorry my rent. When I finished my course, my company had just by chance opened a new shop and offered me immediate full time employment which I couldn't really turn down. I love sport and had learnt how to manually settle bets and I was using my business degree instantly so it was a no-brainer. Used to work for a big company but a couple of years ago I decided to switch to an small independent betting shop, where I have much more autonomy on how to run the business and feels a lot more rewarding, and we've managed to survive the pandemic thus far!

That is cool, I'd enjoy doing anything sports/wrestling related but I don't see that happening.

Claims adjuster for an insurance company.
Pays well, great schedule, and I’m good at.
Feels like something I could do for the rest of my life, although as 40 creeps up I wonder if I won’t look back and wonder why I wasn’t more ambitious.

I need a job that jives with not enjoying working lol. I feel ya. Ya gotta find something related to your interests and be open to see opportunities in places you'd never think to look. I literally went on kijijis job section and typed in "animals" and applied for every job that came up. Did a bunch of stuff I never thought I would. And I certainly never thought I'd land on dog groomer as a career.

Paraeducator. Basically an all-around assistant for the teacher. Currently in high school level special education after spending 12 years in a Conduct Disorder classroom. I could not imagine working in any other field after all these years because of my very generous paid break and vacation schedule every year. Lmao I looked this up actually, the school by me is hiring for it.....they want 2 years of college, a certificate and it pays...13.79. Sir how do you survive?

I’m a civil servant for the British Government, and work in the Freedom of Information team. Basically if someone requests information, we determine whether to answer it and if so, how.
Prior to this I worked in a Government call centre for close to a decade and loved it. For every self-righteous cretin calling you every name under the sun you’d get a sweet old person who genuinely appreciated your help. The Call Centre closed down in November, which is how I’ve ended up where I am. I do enjoy my new job, but don’t know if I’ll be there in five years.

On the side I'm a musician. I've dabbled in session work on and off since my early 20s (I'm 42 now) until Covid came along. But now I'm just focused on the band I'm a part of.
I'm also a carer for my wife who is a home dialysis patient, and for my mom who is pretty much housebound due to MS.
I could extend on these descriptions but I don't want to bore you all with it all.

Head of Hospital Security.
Pays like shit for the amount of responsibility I have, but it's pretty much my dream job. I get to do some good some days. Some days nothing happens and I just get to relax and watch wrestling. Some days it's super dangerous.

From when I was 23 until I was 34 I worked in a city morgue. Good pay and a good job,if you can handle the mental part of it.
Now I provide home health care for my two parents. And since the shutdown in 2020 I have been helping out all our neighbors. Where I live the average age is 65. So once the virus got so bad,I offered to goto town and get groceries/whatever for the neighbors. Now most Sundays and Wednesdays I make a circuit around the neighborhood gathering grocery lists and credit cards. GO get the stuff for everyone, then leave it on their front porch and leave their reciepts and credit cards in their mailbox.
On the side I vend at indie wrestling events in my area. Sometimes I do great and make 200 to 300 bucks in profit. Sometimes I make enough to cover two meals and gas money for whoever drove me to the show.

I'm an independent retailer for television and internet companies at an inbound call center. Basically a one-stop-shop. For example, if a customer calls in wanting DirecTV and don't like the price, I can also pitch them Dish Network. I get an hourly rate plus commission.
Most of my time is spent browsing Youtube, Netflix or various other streaming services. Calls this time of year are few and far between.
