Quality control at a tire manufacturing plant. Currently off work due to injury. One of the machines malfunctioned and shot a tire at me and hit me in the side of the face. So I guess my current job is going to physio and trying to heal.
And if anyone is curious my injuries include whiplash, concussion and since it hit me in the side of my face it somehow drove a top tooth down through one of the bottom teeth. Thankfully it was a wisdom too. Oh and a black eye

No lawyers will even try

I'm a Dog Groomer. I too am almost 40. After many years of working odd jobs to get by I was awarded the opportunity to take some time and focus on me and my happiness. I was given the chance to work as a bather in a dog grooming salon and I loved it. Fast forward and this past summer I went to dog grooming school. I applied for a job to be an assistant to a groomer, I really like animals so I thought I'd at least be happy doing it for that reason. I'm wondering how things went. Did you get the job?

I spent most of my life in the hospitality industry, much of that in management, decided a few years ago I hate the general public and now work mostly construction and stuff of that nature. Installed tombstones for awhile, currently getting paid out the ass to reno a YMCA

Substitute paraeducator in a local school district. I only work in grade and middle schools. slight update to this for the next month I'll be subbing in summer school I'm not expecting any to find a job pretty much every day as I did during the school year, but I do have a gig lined up all next school week Monday - Thursday with a little over 4 hours each day multiple people from the school I spent most my year said that I'd be surprised by how much work I'd find available during the summer so I'll see what happens

In March I moved to my new position of Manufacturing Control Coordinator. All the stuff I used to do from the Distribution side, I now do from the Manufacturing side. I make sure inventory is accurate for all our raw materials. I work with the manufacturing team to enter and process production orders properly. I have been documenting our processes, writing up comprehensive instructions for them, and giving them to the area leads to cross-train our workers. I’m still doing about half of the stuff from my old job too, but as soon as they backfill that position I have a whole mess of training to get them up to speed.
The guy who hired me left the company two months later. I now report to the Director of Manufacturing. He has noticed how hard I work and how much I actually accomplish and has suggested that they hire me an assistant so I don’t burn myself out.

From when I was 23 until I was 34 I worked in a city morgue. Good pay and a good job,if you can handle the mental part of it. Now I provide home health care for my two parents. And since the shutdown in 2020 I have been helping out all our neighbors. Where I live the average age is 65. So once the virus got so bad,I offered to goto town and get groceries/whatever for the neighbors. Now most Sundays and Wednesdays I make a circuit around the neighborhood gathering grocery lists and credit cards. GO get the stuff for everyone, then leave it on their front porch and leave their reciepts and credit cards in their mailbox. On the side I vend at indie wrestling events in my area. Sometimes I do great and make 200 to 300 bucks in profit. Sometimes I make enough to cover two meals and gas money for whoever drove me to the show. And now add in part time maid for my GF. She is working cause of them being short handed at her workplace, crazy hours.9 or 10 shifts for 13 days. Followed by 6 days off. So at least 2,usually 3 or 4,times during her long work spell I drive up clean her place,do laundry, cook something she can take for work for lunch the next few days. Then once she is home order whatever she wants for dinner. Figured working those long shifts hhaving someone take care of the shit we have to do but most of us loathe doing would help out. Plus the dog likes the long drive up there and playing with her neighbors. And I mentioned the vending at shows. Added in,until October at least, running the 2 cameras for Bodyslam media producitons, mostly I show up hand off the two cameras to our trusty camera guy Last Call Keith Hall and he sets one up as hard cam and either runs the other himself with the shoulder mount as ringside roaming or puts that on someone. Plus he sets uup his two own cameras as hard cameras. So added more duties at shows, which is cool. And last show after subtracting 2 meals 3 sodas and gas I made maybe 50 bucks profit. But I covered my expenses had a fun day and got to spend time with my almost 80 year old dad.
