If they want to “protect” Rhea, do not have her get pinned by Bianca twice in the span of less than a week. They cannot even do that right.
I suppose at least in each case you can say there was some protection. Raw had Bianca coming in fresh while Rhea had already wrestled 30+ minutes, and EC had Bianca coming in last as well as her KOD following from Rhea also taking Alexa's DDT.
As for Carmella, Bianca's already pinned her six or seven times so her being in EC would have had no suspense whatsoever.
it already had no suspense regardless. WWE hadn’t built anyone else to feel like they’re on Bianca’s level.
They can make excuses all they want for losses, but they did not NEED to pin Rhea twice in a week. Why not have some besides Bianca win the gauntlet?
At least in this scenario they don’t spend so much time hyping Alexa’s return just to beat her immediately.

Yup. At the end of the day, the problem is that WWE outright refuses to build up any new women or even older ones to feel like a threat towards Bianca. Outside of the weird loss to Becky at Summerslam, she has never felt like she was in danger of losing. The only other women that feel like a threat to her are Charlotte, Becky, and probably Ronda.
But women like Asuka? No one thinks she'll even come remotely close to beating Bianca. Same goes for Alexa, Rhea, etc. None of them feel like threats. But WWE expects us to take them seriously still or be excited for the match. When in reality, the exact opposite is going to happen. Fans of the woman getting fed to Bianca will get pissed off, resentment towards Bianca will grow even more, and WWE's status as the "best women's wrestling company in the world" (their branding not mine) will take another hit, because unless you have been living under a rock for the past several years, unless you are a 4HW or Bianca, you don't get major non-title programs for the women. You are either in the title scene or a complete jobber. There is no middle road.
And why should we think any NXT women that are called up will be any threat to her as well? Especially if they spend months in the midcard going 50/50 with other women. That's why I am saying that an NXT woman needs to come up and beat her decisively fairly quickly. It makes another major star, and doesn't make Bianca look like an unbeatable god (which making her look unbeatable is a bad thing nowadays). It might also give her some actual adversity to overcome, where she basically no sold the Becky loss and immediately rebounded by squashing a bunch of other women. Sometimes multiple times.

I will just say as far as Io goes at this point I think it is far safer for her to stay back in NXT atleast for 1 more year because honestly what is gonna she gonna do when they can't even find a worthwhile f***ing thing for someone like Shotzi to do let alone give her any meaningful screentime.
And Asuka will be coming back , Bayley , Lacey evans.
And they already have Becky Vs Ronda locked in for next year for Mania.
I say let Vince and co burn through all of that for the next year and either Io will finally get her call up and treated like she should be IMO (And Ronda should be gone by then so should make that easier) or she is gonna leave and AEW is gonna immediately grab her up and she is gonna take their womens division to being the best in NA.
