If it happens on 205live/main event/superstars/lvl up, did it really happen? Only for posters with an axe to grind

My biggest question is did Quinn McKay actually appear on camera this week.

If it happens on 205live/main event/superstars/lvl up, did it really happen? It's not a career killer since most people don't see it but it's definitely a window into how Vince and company see certain talent. If they want to protect you, you're not going to lose on these shows. If they don't care about you, you might lose and that's not a good sign.

And, like, I don't think it'd be that hard a thing to do to promote these shows in the first place? They have enough hours to drop something during commentary or have a quick ad during a show or something like that. Especially Level Up since that's supposed to be developmental to developmental so it'd make sense to want people to watch that where it is.

Bruce and Ace apparently see Japanese wrestlers as comedic midcarders and nothing more. As soon as they came back pretty much every Japanese wrestler got bumped lower down the card and got a "funny" gimmick. Bruce, yeah, though I'd be less likely to pin that on Ace. Going to go out on a limb and say I'm pretty sure he's got some experience with Japanese wrestling that'd make him not immediately write them off, just a hunch.

I kinda doubt that. If that's the case then they are trying to shame like half of the roster because over half of their rooster have awful and stupid gimmicks with inconsistent stop-and-start pushes. Finn Balor lost like every week before his vacation. They were shaming him for how he looked no doubt. I'm just picturing the notes. "Finn, you're a literal model with an 8 pack a huge bulge. We have no idea how to market you."

Elektra over Sarray is definitely a headscratcher especially since they went through all the trouble to give Sarray this new character. Making her lose already on the second show doesn't make sense at all. I also doubt they're doing an Elektra/Mandy feud (although they are currently doing a heel vs. heel feud with Diamond Mine and Imperium so who knows) so it's not like giving Elektra that win does anything for her either. Unless they are keeping her strong to be a heel challenger for whatever babyface (likely Io as all the other faces have already lost to Mandy or are job fodder) Mandy drops the belt to. Also who did Xyon piss off? Seemed like in the early days of the reboot he was going to be one of the guys they were maybe going to build around but then he came out of the Elektra angle looking like a total putz, jobbing in the blowoff and getting kicked in the balls by the girl he was trying woo and now he's just an afterthought losing all the time on the secondary show. He seems like a guy they would like as he has a good look and is a bigger dude and I think he definitely has more upside then someone like Von, so this quick and sudden descent is something I find very odd. That's what I was thinking. Sarray got several vignettes, a hyped return and a major victory over Dakota Kai. I thought she was being set up to challenge Mandy Rose at Stand and Deliver, what with Io/KLR in the Dusty Classic. Instead she went missing and the next time we see her she's losing on basically NXT's version of Main Event. In retrospect, it really feels like that match was moreso for Dakota since it set up her interaction with Wendy later that night and the following week. Not to mention some character development on Dakota's end as she has been giving off some Face vibes ever since that match. As for Xyon Quinn, the guy went from soloing Legado del Fantasma on his own to getting beat by Joe Gacy on 205 Live a few weeks ago and now James Drake on NXT Level Up. This was someone who they were building to be a major player on 2.0 alongside Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, Solo Sikoa, Tony D'Angelo etc. So, yeah, it's a pretty big fall from grace. I suspect they've decided that they've got Solo Sikoa so they don't need another pacific islander wrecking shit.

Her losing on NXT's B-Show to Elektra is baffling, especially since Legado is borderline a jobber faction at this point. That's on top of the fact that Elektra herself is pretty cold in terms of audience reaction and overall fan interest. It's why I think Sarray might be in the next round of cuts. The fact that they are already having her take significant losses to low card talent with this new gimmick tells me that management has no interest in treating her seriously. Because if she is supposed to be a top talent or even remotely credible talent, she shouldn't be eating losses to women like Elektra. But its painfully obvious they are putting all of their chips on Cora Jade and other talent like Nikkita Lyons, Ivy Nile, etc. There really is no spot for Sarray in the new NXT at this point, and she would be better suited asking for her release and going back to Japan. Because again, WWE has absolutely zero interest in treating her like a big deal. And once Io and Dakota are gone, the NXT Women's division is going to have a very sharp decline in quality and overall watchablity if you have women like Sarray being used as enhancement talent.

By the way, watching these matches now...
*Drake only beat Quinn with a distraction finish and a roll-up holding the tights, and then Quinn lays out Zack Gibson anyway *Sarray takes a finisher, but had Lopez in line for the low dropkick before Joaquin Wilde (both he and Raul Mendoza were at ringside) pushes her out of the way of it and eats it himself *Even with a few "face is on a flurry of offense but gets startled by the big monster in the way" spots, Kushida and Jiro losing to Gacy and Harland was pretty straightforward for the most part. Harland pins Jiro
So nominally, two out of the three results were "protected finishes", but as we all know, they don't do nothing no more for nobody because they do them for nearly everyone, so... I don't know.

"If only you were two feet taller." " if only you were a baller" Shot caller. As opposed to Cena, who was a spot-caller.

Yeah just getting to watch the show now these results were fine.
I’m just more upset it’s week two of invisible Quinn McKay.

Sarray losing to Elektra Lopez was still bad.
It just, should not have happened.

To be fair to them though all three of those girls you mentioned have a lot of upside too, probably more then Sarray imo. Sarray is a better worker then all of them but the other three are coming along quick and are also a lot less experienced too. Cora has a look and gimmick that has potential when it comes to appealing to young fans, Ivy has a cool look and in ring style and a unique charisma, Nikkita is also unique with her size and is already getting good reactions. Cora and Nikkita are also both super young at 21 and 22 respectively although looking it up Sarray is younger then I thought at only 25 which gives her an edge in that regard over Ivy who is 30 but was also a late starter as apposed to Sarray who started at only 15 meaning less wear and tear. Ivy and Nikkita also seem more over to me. It's not like the fans don't like Sarray but I don't really remember her being that over either while the crowd I've noticed is definitely into Ivy, always chanting for her. Regardless I do think she deserves much better booking. Especially since they currently have a heel champion who is in desperate need of credible face challengers.

They could totally pretend that Sarray never lost here and push her to be Mandy Rose's Takeover challenger, and very few would be none the wiser. But we know that just doesn't happen. It's not the way things have ever been done in WWE. If you are taking losses to someone below you on the card on an ancillary show, it's a pretty good sign that you are moving down the card, even if the show is such an afterthought that it took them months to rename it from 205 Live and they never bothered to move it from the Friday night death slot, even though it goes opposite AEW Rampage, a show that actually has some starpower on it.

I am an unreasonably big Sarray fan and think she’s the best women’s wrestler in the company, but I don’t think her losing is bad. It’s just the timing and place—so soon after her re debut on the b show to who she lost to. She doesn’t need to win every match and nobody does, but in whatever her story is supposed to be it happening so soon is dumb.
