“We had this bonding moment, and then we got in front of his friends, X-Pac, Hunter, Billy Gunn, Road Dogg, Scott Hall, and as soon as we got in front of his friends, he started making fun of me and making fun of my situation and what happened with my bicep. I was like man I just poured my heart out to you and as soon as we get in front of your friends, cause we’re going over that they’re going to beat the shit out of us, you decide to take all of that stuff and make fun of me about it?”

“I never ever forgot it and as soon as we were done with the business at RAW that night, one person said thank you to us and that was Sean Waltman. Everyone else was so cold to us and treated us just like we were the shit on the bottom of their shoes, except for Sean Waltman. I’ll never forget that from Shawn and I hope there’s a day that comes that we can have a conversation and I can ask him why he did that and we can reconcile if he wants to. Dax seems like such a good dude.

I know RVD, who honestly has some prickish tendencies of his own but at least he's pretty honest about it, has often been critical of HBK, and Helms has pretty much said HBK would bury people and politic even on return. Some people have put over Shawn as being helpful to them, like Chris Masters and Adam Cole, but it isn't like Shawn was universally hated before, exactly, not quite. It's just clear that, yeah, he's got some two-faced tendencies, even while sober.

Like, both aren’t great, absolutely, but this was basically a case of someone thinking they could trust someone and having that used against them to look cool rather than being annoyed at a wider situation and lashing out. It’s not really as comparable.

While I do get the feeling HBK is a much better person now, I'm not surprised he still has moments of being a dick. I'm just glad this kind of high school bullshit has been mostly phased out by the younger generation.

I wish there was a middle ground in wrestling land sometimes. Dax puts out his experience, and props to him for doing it because he's addressing a lot of stuff wrestlers don't talk about, and it turns into "SEE? SHAWN MICHAELS HAS BEEN AN ASSHOLE ALL ALONG! BRET HART IS BETTER! WE KNEW IT!" When in reality, it's really about Dax and his singular experience. I get RVD's had stuff to say too, but I feel like people are using this more as an opportunity to shit on Shawn instead of giving Dax credit for being open about the shit wrestlers deal with all the time.

To someone's point in here earlier, it's good that most of this stuff has been phased out.

I know a bunch of people have said that about Nash too, but Waltman talked about in a shoot that he spent extra time in rehab to deal with trauma he had since he was a child and he really changed. Nash and Gunn both seem to have mellowed out a lot. Nash due to wanting to live healthier life and Billy for being involved I'm his sons training.

I do wonder if time wise Shawn was involved in NXT yet or not. Only reason I ask is it seems like once he became one of the top guys in NXT backstage he mellowed out again and took to the role of teacher well.

Either way dick move by Shawn
