Aron Rex opening his mouth and throwing a tantrum about how he was held back ruined any chance of a post WWE career

Marc Mero comes to mind. First guaranteed contract WWE signed someone to, paid better than legit stars like Mick Foley, and he petered out at the midcard and got overshadowed by his wife.

Wasn't Tony Nese hyped up before he signed? he was shown in the ground during TNT title matches before losing his match... not sure if that's hype

It's not his fault at all but I expected Kushida to be a top level guy in NXT and just hasn't been one. And that was true even before the switch to the 2.0 format. He debuted in April of 2019 and didn't appear on a Takeover until October of 2020.

Sting finally coming to WWE. A mix of crappy booking and spots he shouldn’t be taking at his age. It was a big let down.

I don't think Matt's post-2005 WWE run was that bad, actually? His feud with MVP was excellent.

KENTA in WWE was like, the perfect shitstorm of bad booking and worse luck with injuries.

Do we count Gronk? Like, the WWE were the ones screwed over, but still.

Aron Rex opening his mouth and throwing a tantrum about how he was held back ruined any chance of a post WWE career It wasn't even that he complained about being held back. he said he wasn't going to complain about it then complained about it for like 20 minutes... and then buried the gimmick that people actually liked for no real reason...

Love KENTA always but I think Hideo Itami was one of the biggest flops of the last decade in this regard. Dude had a whole signing press conference, all this company hype around him like Meet Japan's Most Interesting Man and was introduced on NXT by f***ing Hulk Hogan. Hulk Hogan did an intro for KENTA. That's surreal lmao. I think as far as the last decade goes tho, Aron Rex rly is the gold standard for shitty rebound runs. His career still hasn't recovered and likely never will. I blame a shit ton of injuries and bad luck for KENTA It was def a flop but his body gave out on him in those few years

It is still the quickest I have seen someone lose a shit ton of goodwill very fast

So he took like over a year to come back, and when he came back like everything that was there when he was... weren't. Finn was gone, Owens was gone, Zayn was gone and most of the second class was on their way out the door too... then he got injured again for like a month... so he couldn't get out of the starter block.

I'm so glad KENTA in NJPW has been quite good. Like, that was one of the most snakebitten WWE runs I've ever seen.
Worse than his, in some respects, was another truly unfortunate run. Kharma. Her run was absolutely cursed, but in a pretty different fashion that I don't really know how to get into delicately, just that it was over so quickly, but did at least have her Rumble appearance.

Yeah, KENTA's terrible run you can't really blame on anyway just a lot of bad luck and bad timing. Kinda the same for Kharma... it's a real shame that didn't work out... especially with HOW it didn't work out.

You can put Thunder Rosa in AEW now.
Although that is far more on Tony Khan's ineptitude than her

AEW it’s gotta be Tony Neese.
