Didn’t…didn’t Dolph take the pin in two tag matches against both champion and contender? Yes, I know, “it only matters on the night” but especially when you have a Bobby Roode right there to take the pin, they have to realize how gooberish it sort of looks to have that guy end up as the champion, right? All I can say is what I said earlier, that all of it is probably intentional to show that he doesn’t deserve to be the champion. The previous champion pinned him yesterday, the other challenger pinned him a week ago, he only got the title shot in the first place because his tag partner helped him cheat, just like he did tonight when he won it. They could not be beating you over the head any harder with this without literally flying over to Ireland and actually beating you over the head.

I was hoping he would win honestly. Breakker does nothing for me and Dolph is good when he has, like, shit to do.

How does black and gold NXT feel like 200 years ago?

Why the hell not I guess? Mr. NXT has come alive. Please do not besmirch the name of the real Mr NXT. Damn that bastard that outsted him. (Edit: oh wait, it wasn't the bastard, but I suppose my point still stands)

Still weird but eh, not the first weird set of booking decisions fitting in this mould.

I don't think the intention is to build Ziggler up as some kind of undefeatable monster. He's a wily vet who cheated to win.

Alvarez had a meltdown over this on the RAW Report this week, and that was before Dolph inevitably won the belt... so I can't imagine what he's gonna sound like tomorrow lmfao

Well, no, but you should have him be somewhat credible, so having him pinned two weeks in a row where his much worse position partner is right there, the one who can only be seen as Ziggler's lackey at this point, is just weird to me.

How does black and gold NXT feel like 200 years ago? It's quite incredible how the guy who was clearly being made to be the front and center star of it, won the belt in like two months, ripped the "Old NXT" in half ...just lost it a main roster dude in his 40's Really makes the journey Vince is trying to take this already burned audience who wanted an alternative brand on feel way less worth it lol

Bron was protected. I'm thinking this sets up a rematch at Stand & Deliver.

Bron will be fine. Clearly, Vince liked what he saw Monday night and is keen to bring him up to the main roster sooner rather than later. They can pencil him in as Seth's opponent at Wrestlemania if the whole Cody Rhodes thing falls through and disappoint nobody with that decision.

People forget that Dolph is a former world champ. That he was once one of the most over guys in the company: WWE screwed it up spectacularly with him. But that does not mean that he cannot do good work. Former world champ means jack shit in WWE. Dolph was being called a former world champ after he was handed the title because his opponent used a legal move that was banned for storyline purposes. And he then lost that title minutes later to the same guy. Sure he had a better title win later on and is a pretty good performer. But if he never did he would still be a former world champ.

The issue is WWE has done the trope of "heel who actually sucks and loses all the time manages to win a world title via underhanded means" way too much. So one issue is it's way overdone. And the other issue is that you still want a champion to have some credibility because you want people to watch his matches and pay to see him wrestle. People don't want to watch a loser.

It can have value if you have a strong face that people want to see overcome the obstacles and finally put the loser in his.place by winning the title. Problem is WWE cannot write these stories anymore. So the obstacles only make the face look like a loser over and over and by the time he should be winning the title back everyone is tired of him. So its either put the title back on a now no longer over face or keep the title on the loser heel making the face look even worse. Its why no one in WWE is over anymore except the part timers from 20 years ago.

Someday, I will find a way to make "People don't want to watch a loser" co-exist with "No more dirty finishes in wrestling, only clean finishes" and "No wrestlers winning literally all the time", and it will be hailed as the greatest scientific achievement since the splitting of the atom.

I really, really don't think this is Bron getting the call-up. This is all about getting him a signature win over a familiar face at Stand and Deliver so that he doesn't have to beat somebody like Grayson Waller or Melo right away. That's why people like Ziggler are on NXT in the first place - get them reps with main roster guys and get them over.
