Well, this makes me even less likely to ever tune into NXT. And that's not meant as a knock on Dolph. He's pretty awesome and always has been. He's just been booked into oblivion for so many years that it's impossible to take him seriously as a champ. From what I've read from you guys, WWE hasn't done a good job of rehabilitating him or making him champion material again, either. Between all the times that Breakker has beaten the brakes off of him and the copious and plentiful outside interference tonight, I don’t think we’re meant to take Ziggler seriously as champion, but as an undeserving lucky prick that stole it from the rightful champion. Yeah, Bron had it won till Roode pulled the ref out. We're not supposed to believe Dolph earned it, he's a snake that needed help to win.

Well maby we will get a Ziggler / Roode NXT feud with this. Unless Roode turns the clock back to 2012, i.e becomes the biggest bastard in the business and starts the heel turn by smashing a beer bottle off the skull of Ziggler, a Dolph/Roo feud sounds about as appealing as a holiday in Corby.

So, I mean, this is an unequivocal, irrefutable, objective confirmation that “NXT 2.0” was a complete dogshit failure of an idea, right?
I mean, the whole idea was to go “back to developmental” and focus solely on young talents and here we are, less than half a year later, and we’re back to a 40+ year old “main roster” champion.
I mean, I’m more likely to watch now because I actually enjoy Ziggler, but this is hilarious.

Vince: Here’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to put him head-to-head against AEW. And when he fails, I’ll fire several of his friends and pet projects. I’ll tell him it’s not his fault, it’s just that we want to go in a more developmental and experimental. And just when he’s becoming used to the changes, I’ll make Dolph Ziggler the champion.
*Vince, Dunn, and Bruce laugh maniacally*

Hate to say it but when thinking of people they could have Dolph lose it too this possibility crossed my mind too and even sadder I can see them doing it. The whole lackey who does the dirty work and gets no thanks for it before rebelling and turning face against his chicken s**t heel superior angle usually works so I can see them thinking it will do the same for "Glorious" Booby Roode. Except it won't. Nobody will care.

Probably the only NXT Champion we'll ever have that actually worked with NXT Coach Shawn Michaels in an official match. (Unless they do this with The Miz one day, that is.)

Cool of Triple H to make a rare modern appearance and to bring back the NXT point gimmick to boot!

Cool of Triple H to make a rare modern appearance and to bring back the NXT point gimmick to boot! And who said Triple H didn't like Jericho. Pops back up for the first time in forever to do his signature NXT point after he wins the title his first match back. What a guy!

Frontloading your roster with a bunch of super green talents, some of whom aren't even in double digits in terms of official matches, and thinking it would be presentable as a two hour Cable TV show let alone a sustainable brand itself... was always doomed to fail. The initial plan for this was to make WRESTLEMANIA MAIN EVENTERS with a f***ing THREE MONTH turnaround time window. Vince is out of his f***ing mind, he won't even use the ready stars he has now like Io, Sarray, Dunne, Grimes, Lumis, Ciampa, Kushida, etc in any meaningful role and he expects people like Xyon Quinn or Von Wagner to find their Steve Austin stroke or Tiffany Stratton to be Trish Stratus in less than HALF A YEAR? Lmfao.

If Dolph Ziggler becomes the face of the brand and goes on a six month title run against other established dudes in their late 30s/40s? Maybe. But having a couple of vets down there to help y'know... develop the new guys? I don't see how that doesn't fit in with what NXT 2.0 is trying to be. Dunno, people who don't watch the show can read into one match result if they like, but it feels pretty obvious to me what NXT is.

Didn’t…didn’t Dolph take the pin in two tag matches against both champion and contender?
Yes, I know, “it only matters on the night” but especially when you have a Bobby Roode right there to take the pin, they have to realize how gooberish it sort of looks to have that guy end up as the champion, right?

Well because they think all of us fans are stupid and think we are all going to be like "oh well Dolph got beat by both Ciampa and Breakker so that means he's surely screwed in the triple threat" when instead it completely gave it away that Dolph was going to win because they've been doing this stupid trope for years. Like it's not freaking 1995 anymore and we're not all little kids who still think it's real. Nobody is going to buy it. All it does is make your World Champion look like crap just at the expense of trying a misdirection on fans that isn't going to fool any one.
