Which members as part of a stable were the odd man out in the group they were in.
Owen Hart in The Nation - Yeah I get it, because he was a "Black" Hart, and I also get the Black Militant aspect was gone when The Rock took over, and it evolved into a "cool hip" group, but Owen's persona just didn't gel well with the rest of the Nation members.
Ahmed Johnson in The Nation of Domination - I was even questioning it at the time as a 10 year old mark why he would join forces with the group he was feuding with for the past six months. After looking back in hindsight, it was more of a case of "if you can't beat them, join them" and that Faarooq influenced Ahmed that he was being held down by the WWF because of his skin color, and actually, there was months of hinting that he would join them(see the MSG broadcast in March 1997).
What made it nonessential though is he was kicked out a month and a half later via group beat down, continuing his already tiring feud with them.
Sting in The Wolfpac - Yes, they were the "good" NWO, but it contradicts Sting's loner character to be in ANY stable, let alone the one he was feuding with. Same thing with Lex Luger.
Kurt Angle in The Alliance - I was going to say "Stone Cold" Steve Austin since for the past three years, he was the face of the WWF, but at least he had history in WCW, Kurt Angle never stepped foot in a WCW or even an ECW ring(although he was in attendance at an event, but left in disgust do to the whole Sandman Crucifixion angle). Not to mention he was feuding with the Alliance for weeks and this was after 9/11 where fans turned to an American hero and he was right there, so even the timing was questionable.
So he went from top babyface(alongside The Rock) to second-in-command heel lackey within the space of a month. But wait, a month later it was revealed he was a mole and turned on Austin and The Alliance and save the WWF from extinction and then that somehow made him a BAD GUY, while Austin who not even 24 hours earlier was trying to put them out of business suddenly turns back face because SHUT UP THAT'S WHY! This whole storyline was such a mindf*** I don't blame a large number of the audience for exodusing after this. In fact, many in the IWC consider this episode of RAW to be a pivotal point in the creative downturn of the company and they never fully recovered from it, and that was 20 years ago.
Randy Orton in The Wyatt Family - I forgot the storyline of why he was there in the first place since I wasn't fully watching then, but it dosen't make sense for a GQ Model to be part of a Hillbilly Cult unless somebody can fill me in otherwise why he was there.
I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of for now.
