I’m not super keen on Thunder Rosa, especially lately. Although I did enjoy the cage match, so maybe I’ll come around on her.
I also like Adam Cole in a vacuum, but I don’t think his spot on the card and push is commensurate with his overall talent level, particularly given how stacked AEW’s roster currently is.

I really have no idea what the appeal of Adam Cole is actually supposed to be beyond, "He has a catchphrase it's easy to sing along with." He's a perfectly good wrestler and promo I guess, but I don't see anything exceptional about him in either regard and he has an actively shitty moveset with nothing that actually looks particularly impactful whatsoever. Also everything about his character feels extremely ill-defined, it's like he's trying to be Shawn Michaels without any of the aspects of Michaels that actually make him stand out.
Also I loved Malakai's NXT stuff and even his main roster stuff when he was allowed to let loose, but the dude is just absolutely terrible as a heel and his AEW work has been almost entirely completely uninteresting. He cut a substantially better promo on Velveteen Dream in one sentence than any of his boring-ass rambling monologues and really the guy should just stick to, "Do cool flips and kick people in the head," because those are what he's actually good at.

I like Cole and he and redragon work well as a trio.
However I don't see any of them being anywhere near the top of their respective divisions.
When that trios belt comes in they'd be my first or second champions.

Not really a top guy but I really don't like Sammy Guevara.
His lack of psychology and selling bugs the shit out of me.
Same with the Young Bucks. Although they've had good matches, I feel a lot of times I'm saying "That's the perfect finish right there!"... And then they kick out, mess up the psychology completely and lose to something way more lame.

Long entrance, dominates a corner of the AEW universe with self-indulgent storylines, everyone has to put him over, including those who have momentum of their own that he halts... Malakai Black's pretty guilty of Cody sins, if I am being totally honest. I like him, but he gets a pass for a lot of irritating slog. Hart got misted how many months ago? Is that going anywhere? I'm pretty high on Malakai Black, mostly just because I dig his music taste.. but.. He has ideas for suuuuuper deep and involved storytelling, including aspects that don't even take place on AEW cameras. Someone put together a montage of his career/story and it is insanely nuanced, which is great, but if he isn't like extra prominently featured on TV it will never be fully fleshed out and it'll be very hard to connect the dots.

Adam Cole. He's a good wrestler and charismatic, but nothing about him screams main event and top champ to me and never has, even in his NXT or ROH stints. He'd be a great TNT champ, I think.
There's a few others like Malakai Black and Darby Allin that aren't to my tastes, but I can see why AEW has them where they are.

I actually dig Mox, but I wish he would find some kind of actual ring gear. The NJPW look wasn't too bad. I just feel like the jeans/boots look is such an artifact of the Attitude Era. It's not a horrible look, but it's just tired to me. I remember him angrily in a promo said he was like napalm death. It was lame and eye rolling, not nearly as badass as he no doubt thought. I like the gear myself though. THIS is my issue with Mox. He tries to come off as this murder death badass, and like, something about him, it just doesn't fit.

I think Moxley's an excellent talent but he's at his best when there's a more humorous side to the character. Not saying he needs to be going around in a hotdog cart but he's a lot better as a smartass than he is being all GRRSRS.

Kenny Omega. I don't dislike him as much as I used to, but I'm still not crazy about him. And I hate to say it, but I think Cornette has the right idea about what's wrong with Omega. He's so hammy that I feel like I'm risking a sodium overdose watching his matches, and that wink-nod kayfabe-breaking stuff like calling himself the Best Bout Machine just doesn't get over with me personally. Everything he does is too overwrought and over-dramatic.
Andrade. He wrestles like a Sports Entertainer, and I mean that as an insult.
Thunder Rosa. I know she's "good" in the ring. I also know she's notoriously stiff and a lot of women don't like working with her. I know she and Ivelisse had heat and Ivelisse took all the blame because she's a known hothead. Now they're saying that Britt can't stand Rosa either and sandbagged her. I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop, the stories to pile up, and the IWC to turn on Rosa and pretend they never liked her like they did with Ivelisse and Shanna.

Yeah, I like Mox and don't mind him being serious violent man... but the smug sarcastic dick he was as Ambrose helped round him out a bit as a character I think.

Mox. I've said in the past I don't know why, but he rubs me the wrong way.
As for Malakai, I think some of the criticism has to be directed towards Tony Khan. I still maintain that "dark/supernatural gimmicks" are to TK what Short wrestlers are to Vince McMahon. They're blind spots when it comes to how things "should" be booked.
Like has been said, Julia was misted ages ago. Even WWE would have done something with that by now. Would it have been stupid? Probably, but at least something would have come of it.

I wouldn't say not keen on, but I don't have the investment in Eddie Kingston that I'm "supposed" to have. Maybe because I didn't watch him in the indies. I way prefer him as a heel.

I think Malakai Black is terrible outside of one moment ever ("enjoy infamy, Velveteen Dream", and even that has been ruined due to no fault of his own). NXT. WWE. AEW. It doesn't matter.
He's the living embodiment of that "I'm 14 and this is edgy" meme. It's been almost a year now and I'm not convinced there's any great story coming. I think he's just another dork doing a dark character with a cult.
I'm afraid Bray Wyatt will be the same. I've seen a lot of people anticipating what he'll do with full or a lot of creative control but I'm worried when we see what that actually entails it will end up being garbage.
I think I just have no patience for dark/supernatural stuff in wrestling these days unless it's played for laughs (Danhausen, Broken Matt Hardy). If Undertaker never existed then debuted right now with the exact same character I would probably find it cringeworthy despite loving it back in the day. I just can't take it seriously when you have a 30-40 year old grown man doing these dark and mysterious promos and doing spooky stuff like magically turning the lights off and appearing out of nowhere (and if he's not actually supernatural that's even lamer that he's going to the sound guy and politely asking him to cut the lights at the right moment for him). Then they wrestle in sanctioned wrestling matches like a regular employee and do superkicks and flips like everyone else.

For me it is Mox. Fine wrestler and performer no doubt, but I can never get into him as much as a large part of the fanbase does. Same for me but a bit different. Over the last year, I've grown weary of Mox. I really can't explain it other than his hardcore antics have grown stale and thus painfully predictable to me...

I don't think Britt Baker is very good, certainly doesn't justify her push and I find her whole schtick cringey. Her title reign became very painful to watch for me about halfway through. I never thought for a second any of her challengers were serious threats, and Britt burying them on the mic in one-sided promo battles didn't help matters....

I have a few, I guess? I want to preface this by saying I enjoy the hell out of AEW and I don't want this to sound like I'm bashing the entire company. Just wanted to make that clear.
- Keith Lee: He's okay until he starts speaking. He talks like an NPC in Skyrim. I don't mind his matches, but some folks act like he's a major star. I don't think he's anywhere close. - Malakai Black: This dude has always been boring and his infamous Twitch stream has cemented him in my mind as being a complete goof. Plus, the supernatural/magical/goofy characters just aren't my thing. - Adam Cole: I've never liked him in any form. I wish he would've stayed far away from AEW, but we all knew that was never going to happen. - Adam Page: A great midcarder/upper midcarder. I don't think he's remotely the level of star a lot of people think he is. I definitely wouldn't have my main title on him. - Omega: Like Keith Lee, his promos and mannerisms kill his appeal. I won't deny he's an amazing wrestler, however. - Young Bucks: I've been sick of these guys for years. As I said in the Revolution thread, if I never saw them wrestle again, I'd be okay with it. As The Smiths said, the joke isn't funny anymore.
I know you said "top guy", but I just want to throw in Danhausen and Jungle Boy as well. I loathe both of these guys. I genuinely don't get what people see in Jungle Boy. But, like I said, with Black, these types of characters are always the ones I will absolutely hate. They're just not the type of wrestling/wrestlers that I enjoy.

My thing with Malakai is he doesn't need the supernatural stuff to look scary like Bray does; his offense looks like it kills. When he just kicked Codys head off, that was an instant star making moment. He's definitely better in a less is more way but he wants to do his spooky metal video stuff sadly.

I will say with Britt I do think the title reign mostly just wasn't to her strengths - she's someone who mostly gets material out of being angry and having perceived wrongs to complain about which doesn't work when you've been champion for a year - but I have also come down on the side of thinking she just isn't a very good wrestler. She has a willingness to take crazy bumps and do violent shit, and that counts for something, but most of her matches outside of that are pretty damn bad.
