I do enjoy some lowbrow entertainment, but Maury was just straight up filth. XD

Enjoy retirement, Maury!
Gonna miss hearing all the weird-ass names. Stuff like Drama, Concrete, Tater Tot, Queen (all manner of royal-type names, really), Fear, Cyns'irly, Pancake, Pepsi (an older white woman, at that), Mylove, Miracle, Phranjeston...

I thought it was just in reruns anyway. Nevertheless farewell to I think the last of the golden era of trash talk show television. Sally, Jenny, Jerry, Riki and finally Maury.

I wonder if it was as bad back stage as the Jeremy Kyle Show has shown to be.

I'm surprised the show was still on the air, when you consider it's the remnant of a long, long gone era. Even more so when you consider the height of it's popularity was in the latter half of the 2000s.

It's been in an odd place since the pandemic started. A mix of reruns and uncomfortable Zoom calls with the guests at home and Maury in an empty studio.

Finding out Maury was still on the air, even pre-pandemic, was like when I found out The Jerry Springer Show was still a thing up to 2018.

Maury taught me one thing: If a person says a number greater than 100%, they are lying 10,000% of the time.

I wonder if it was as bad back stage as the Jeremy Kyle Show has shown to be. I would guess that Maury, like Jerry Springer, had the producers just making up the ridiculous, outrageous shit to create "good" television. The same goes for Dr. Phil, I'm convinced 90% of the "characters" and insane stories are invented, which Jeremy Kyle was never allowed to do.

Now parents won’t know where to go when their teen daughters dress too sexy, or wanna have a baby. No more boot camp for out of control 12-year-olds, either. They should give Captain Logan from Bill and Ted a show. All those kids will be going to Alaskan military school.

I’m sure all these kids of ratchet mothers and dads who want nothing to do with either of them turned out really well over the past three decades

I did find it odd that whenever they did a rebellious teen episode, they’re like
Teen: I want to be a stripper/porn star Audience: boo!
But they’d have “revenge on bullies” episode of people who grew up after a crappy high school experience and they’re like
Guest: I’m a stripper/pork star now Audience: yay!

I just remember the cameramen chasing the women all over the studio after they were told the guy was not the father, those were hilarious.
