Not a dream match/feud you normally think of, but by the time Luger left the WWF(in early September 1995), Goldust was doing vignettes for his debut, which he did in October. I can see after Luger's feud with Davey Boy wraps up from the Allied Powers break up, that Goldust's first feud would be with The Total Package by playing mind games with him(such as making sexual advances).

I know he faced Isaac Yankem but interested to see what Bret Hart could do with Kane. Only in the company for a month together in 97 before Bret left for WCW. This was gonna be my choice. Bret vs Kane could've been amazing. I know he faced Isaac Yankem but this would've been a good match. Some others... Owen vs Jericho, Angle vs Bret.

Apart from one throwaway New Age Outlaws vs Outsidwew match in some random ass Indy, we never got a proper nWo vs DX encounter until basically everyone was retired.

Up until he signed back to WWE Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles.
Rey Mysterio and Triple H during the brand splits back in the day.
Edit thought this was a new thread and already put Rhodes vs Styles.

There's about a 3 month gap between Shingo joining NJPW and Omega departing. Obviously with the forbidden door, there's a still a chance for them to cross paths.
Continuing on the NJPW line of thought, imagine how fun it'd have been to watch Shibata just beat the crap out of Jay White when he found his footing as a heel.

Randy Orton made his WWE debut just a few months before Steve Austin walked out in 2002.
Also, the fact that in 96, Ultimate Warrior was on the same roster as Austin, Mankind, and Triple H is pretty mind-blowing to me too.

At least Orton had one of the best Stunner sells I’ve seen at Survivor Series 03.

Hogan’s last televised match in his first fed run came at the same show as Diesel’s on screen debut.
The two men would later be paired in WCW and the rest is history.

They were the first two entrants at the 2006 Royal Rumble and made it to the final four, so they kinda sorta interacted. Another one would be Batista vs. Brock Lesnar. They were also in the final four at the 2003 Royal Rumble, and the only interaction I remember seeing was one giving the other a belly to belly suplex.

I believe they had a match or two at some point, but considering the length of both careers, Jericho and Jarrett have had very little interaction.

I feel like a spoiled brat for even complaining about it, because Cena vs Styles and Cena vs Owens was already more than I ever dared imagine at the time, but I'm still kinda salty that WWE never booked Cena vs Samoa Joe.
Especially that Wrestlemania when Cena was playing will-he-won't-he with Undertaker while Joe was in NXT feuding with... I don't even remember, probably f***ing Baron Corbin or something.
I remember reading a few years ago that Cena vs Joe was planned a couple of times, but Joe kept getting injured. I could be completely off base but I think I heard that Cena vs Joe was the original plan for that ppv where Cena vs Roman happened?

BUMP!
It sucks how short lived the Waylon Mercy character was. He left in October 1995, right before darker characters such as Goldust and Mankind made their debuts. In fact, I remember somebody suggested him, Goldust, and Mankind could've formed a trio that messed with The Undertaker sometime in 1996.

Given how nuts Mercy seemed to subtly be, a Skyscrapers reunion between him and the appropriately named Psycho Sid would have been pretty cool.

Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin, 2002. I think there's a thread here about biggest missed opportunities for big time matchups and I'd put this at #1 on a list of those. You would think they'd have concrete plans to match the two up one-on-one. That's the kind of match you pencil in WITH A PERMANENT MARKER. My only guess is they were aiming to do the match at Summerslam that year, the 2nd biggest PPV on the schedule behind WrestleMania. That has to be the only reason why they didn't do it sooner. But then we all know what happened, Austin left, then came back but for only one last match because he had tons of lingering injuries, and then Hogan started getting a bit chippy himself, etc, etc. Another ships passing instance I just thought of: Hulk Hogan and Bruno Sammartino, 1986. I know they were both faces at the time and VKM very much did not want to book face-face matches back then. Still, it would've done a massive house show gate & they could always leave it untelevised (but still tape it for future home video release) meaning they could still both work face. That’s true. The only time that Hulk and Steve were on opposite sides and DID interact was the Raw before WM18 where Austin and Rock teamed up against the NWO (Hogan/Nash/Hall.) Also, Hulk and Bruno did team up for Bruno’s final match against King Kong Bundy and the One Man Gang. ringthedamnbell.wordpress.com/2016/08/17/remember-when-bruno-sammartino-and-hulk-hogan-teamed-together/

Honestly, I would have liked to see something between The Shockmaster and Avalanche.

Honestly, I would have liked to see something between The Shockmaster and Avalanche. Fred Ottman had retired by the time Avalanche was in WCW after suffering a broken arm and the death of his Brother. He was also back as Typhoon in WWF by then.

Warrior's 1996 return fell squarely within Jake's 1996 return. Would have been interesting to call back to the unresolved TRUST ME/"room full of snakes" business from 1991 -- although if Jake is to be believed (and he usually shouldn't be), he loathed Warrior for costing him the big-money feud. Did they simply avoid each other backstage in '96? In the DSOTR episode on Warrior, Jake made it seem like he didn't see Warrior again till the Hall of Fame inductions, which can't possibly be true. Considering they were on a German show together outside of the WWF and seemingly cordial...
