Even though it did happen at a house show, I'm surprised Bret Hart vs Randy Savage wasn't featured as a WWF PPV bout. That one was a missed opportunity. As was Hogan vs Flair at Wrestlemania 8.

WCW did try a Bret Vs Savage match at Slamboree 1998, but Savage was working through some major injuries at the time so the bout was no where near as good as it could have been.

Did Dusty Rhodes ever face off against Roddy Piper? Possibly during Piper's stint in JCP?

Bam Bam Bigelow and Big Bossman did it three times.
-In 1988, Bossman was debuting around the time Bam Bam was leaving WWF. -In 1993, Bam Bam was returning around the time Bossman was leaving WWF. -In 1998, Bam Bam was returning around the time Ray Traylor left WCW.

Savage was also said to be very vocal about wanting to work with HBK in 1992/3, and McMahon shot him down every time. They worked some tag matches on house shows but no big program.

-Cena debuted right after Austin left in 2002. -Eddie and Taker were on the same brand for 3 years but never had a one on one (I’m sure they were saving that though)

Andre The Giant and Undertaker. Sure Andre wasn't really wrestling in the WWF anymore at that point, but I'm sure they interacted backstage at least.

While Bammer and Boss Man didn't have a feud they actually had a match at Royal Rumble 1993 which was designed to reestablish Bam Bam as a threat by having him go over Boss Man fairly clean.

One of the biggest missed opportunities ever. Sting vs Undertaker. To think Sting would end up signing with WWE was a pipedream, but for this match not to happen? Goddamn!

Steve Blackman debuted The Lethal Weapon character just a few weeks before Montreal. I think had he been able to turn up a few months earlier Bret would have had a match with him.

IIRC Vince wanted Randy to be his Babe Ruth but if he has a match with Bret, it would be a "pass the torch" type and maybe Vince wouldn't want him going out on the losing end. I personally liked commentator Randy but I get why he wanted to leave for WCW, where they could use him better, at the time.

I'd have hated Shawn going over.

If in 1992, I would imagine Randy going over because Shawn was still a bit away from being established on the upper card scene. If it was 1994 when Randy was primarily a commentator or wrestling Crush, I think Shawn would win.

The closest for this to legit happen was either WM 27 or 31. Sting didn't want it at 27 and stayed with Tna and ended up to wrestle Jeff Hardy in that controversial "match". I really wonder how much he regrets that in retrospect. 31 would have been great. But Taker never seemed like a big supporter of that Match happening.

A match between those two would've been one for the ages.

If it was 1994 when Randy was primarily a commentator or wrestling Crush, I think Shawn would win. They wrestled a twice during the 1992 European Tour England and Germany during Savage's second title reign with both making tape as they were the only two televised events as part of that tour. Both are very good matches with Savage going over clean in both. Shawn was already really good at that point however like you said it was too soon for him to be in a World Title program. I could see Savage being impressed with him and realizing they had chemistry in those matches and asking to work a program with him. If they were feuding in 94 I don't know if Michaels going over is that much of a given. It didn't seem like they saw him as a top guy until the following year. In 94 he was still more upper midcard. Also while Savage was part time he was still winning pretty much all the time when he did wrestle. Case in point him winning the Crush feud.

What wrestlers would you of liked to have seen go against each other in a promotion. but one of the wrestlers left before they could have a match or a feud that you would of liked to have seen. 6 Sid vs Kane 1997 (Sid Left in August and Kane of course debut in October would of been a neat big man match to watch) I believe the only interaction these two ever had was in a battle royal that Owen Hart won, Sid eliminated Isaac Yankem at some point.

Someone mentioned Earthquake and Typhoon in WCW. They had a strange 1993, 1994. Quake left WWF in early 93, most likely seeing the writing on the wall with jobbing. Typhoon replaced him in a Yoko feud, jobbing, then he went to jobbing until I think May or June.
He was in WCW from late August to I think early January though I know I watched every WCW show and have no memory of him as Shockmaster or Super Shockmaster.
Quake comes back to WWF in Winter time, leave in April or May. Typhoon once again replaces him, staying until I think August. Then Quake is in WCW in October. It's a little off from the original title but just seems like they were always missing each other somehow after early 93. Even in the WM X-7 Battle Royal they weren't a team.

Did Rick Rude ever face Bret Hart? I think that he was in WCW by the time that Bret started his si goes push.
What about Rude and Macho?
