Ibushi bringing up the "hansha" makes this story both a lot more intriguing and terrifying.

In Japan do they say someone sleeps with the sushi? Or sashimi?

In Japan do they say someone sleeps with the sushi? Or sashimi? They definitely don't say "squid" or "octopus" because those two have a different implication of their own. Very different.

Yeah, Ibushi is dropping his value world wide. Anyone who ever wants to deal with a puro company is going to take a hard look at him before signing him.
Man, Kenny should probably think carefully about going back to Japan. Even a high profile gaijin is a much safer target for the Yakuza, and everyone knows he's best buds with Ibushi.

Unless he's planning on moving out of Japan, he's going full scorched earth.

This is all great news for Puerto Rican fans because that's the only place he's going to be able to work after this

Ibushi’s flippant worldview used to be a funny thing, but openly noting “antisocial organization” is no laughing matter. I would look at this less as “shockwaves sent through puro” and more as “Ibushi needs to watch his back” going forward. Yakuza are still around, but much quieter over the last decade. Then you have groups that are much louder and more brutal appear in that time. Yeah and the yakuza have a sort of code of honor that members are expected to follow. The hangure don't. Though the hangure are also not as organized or wealthy as yakuza. They're basically the successors of the biker gangs that were more common in the 80s.

I just hope Ibushi knows what he’s doing, and isn’t just being flippant just to burn a bridge. That would help nobody.

Look I've played enough Yakuza games to know he just needs to complete a few more Substories.

What are the exact allegations he's made today? That NJPW/Puro is in bed with organized crime? Is he literally saying that in any detailed way or is it a metaphor for being scummy/dishonorable? Either way it sounds damning for any possible mending in regards to NJPW but with some worrying about his safety I have to take caution there. Even if he is saying the former I have a hard time thinking he'd be in direct physical danger unless he's naming names or outing details of how they're involved. It's more likely he'd be blackballed.

Ibushi isn’t as prominent a figure as Rikidōzan was when Yakuza killed him. Just saying. Rikidozan also picked a fight with the yakuza guy at a nightclub and was beating the crap out of him until the yakuza stabbed him. So it's not like there was a hit out on him or anything. He probably could've survived if he listened to the doctors after his first surgery.

Not only that but the Yakuza who stabbed him wasn't aware of who Rikidozan was until after the fact and caught a lot of heat for it from higher-ups. Rikidozan likely would'v survived if he had let the infection from the stabbing heal. Amusingly enough Murata, the guy who stabbed him, ended up greatly regretting it and would visit his grave every year.

Nearly every member of the first couple of Inoki’s dojo classes were notorious for that. Guess Rikidozan is where that started.

If true I called it. A lot of organizations are involved with the Yakuza one way or another. They are a plague in Japan and they've immersed themselves in every facet of Japanese life

I would say Ibushi is about to head to Mexico put on a mask and become El Hijo del Ibushio.
But if he is willing to just throw out the Yakuza as being involved in whatever...he doubley does not want to pull this shit with the Cartels.
Ibushi might have to make permanent residense in like south america and wrestle in like chile and such places.

This could very well end up being one of the greatest self tanks of a wrestling career ever when all is said and done
We've seen a lot of major talent lose their careers to stuff like Speaking Out, or being a moron, but Ibushi casually throwing out The Yakuza? Dude could go from one of the top stars of Japan to nothing, worldwide, in the matter of a few days.
