I don't know how 'glossed over' Austin's domestic abuse incident is when it gets brought up in just about any thread about a wrestler doing something wrong.

I don't know how 'glossed over' Austin's domestic abuse incident is when it gets brought up in just about any thread about a wrestler doing something wrong. That’s why I brought up what I did about not going with the “forever a pariah” thought process. There are people who will never acknowledge that Austin has owned that he f***ed up and took steps to improve. And it’s not just Austin and. It just in wrestling. But I’ll leave it at that so as not to go off track.

I admit, I make jokes about it, but it can't be argued that at the very minimum Austin has kept his nose clean since the incident, and has not had a major run in with the law or with controversy since. And for that I believe he deserves at least a bit of credit compared to someone who can't seem to stop mucking up.

We just gonna ignore all those classic Doug Suplex matches he put on with Andrew Abdominal Stretch? People want to rag on Stretch just because he’s in the pen after he drove that Mack truck through that KFC because they forgot his corn, but he was a wizard on the mat.

I'm less interested in the ethics of forgiving or not forgiving Steve Austin, and more concerned with the idea that everyone just goes on pretending Austin didn't do anythign and the matter is buried. It's talked about too much for that to be the case.

I expect to read something new and it’s the same old stuff we have heard before. Maybe diff flavoring cause HBK but the man can still be an asshole sometimes without being the menace he was in his youth.

Shawn Michaels has to take the cake. He was one of the scummiest backstage politics and personal behavior guys in the locker room in his day and yet people rail on HHH and talk about Shawn like he’s Baby Jesus. He’s literally in charge of NXT 2.0 yet people who don’t like its direction and presentation (and there is plenty to criticize) scream about Johnny Ace when HBK is the show runner. I abide by the idea that people can grow and change and Shawn is a very different person now. Sure he can be kind of a dick sometimes but who isn't? Any stories of him being a jerk these days are apples and oranges from when he was the biggest locker room cancer in the history of the business. Shawn hasn't changed. He's a whiny entitled little bitch. Look at the Hogan match. HBK didn't deserve to be in the same locker room, let alone ring as Hulk. And when Hulk out politiced him,he reacted like a f***ing child.

Hes done a lot of harm backstage and he's destroyed own career with his idiotic views and lying I'll say that if Shawn had done that to literally anyone else people would rightly be angry about it but he did it to a guy who a) did way worse to others over the years and b) is REALLY not someone you want to make your hill to die on. As far as I'm concerned Hogan can go screw and I'll watch HBK making him out to be a geriatric who has no business in the ring all day.

And YMMV on it, c) made the match far, far more watchable than it otherwise would have been. Hogan had two flat out f***ed knees and a back starting to fall apart. Hogan actually looked a lot better in that match with HBK selling like that.

I think wrestling fans have a 'What have you done for me lately?' attitude, retired wrestlers generally get less of a pass than if they're still out there, having matches. Shawn's kind of proof of that, people gave him far more of a pass when he was still active, same goes for Taker.

It was because Hogan decided last minute that he was going to be one and done instead the agreed 2 matches where Shawn was going to go over. Than Hogan came back the next year to face Orton and happened? He won that too. I don't give a damn how big of a star he is, at that stage why does he need to win against the guy who is going to be there the next show? No reason why Hogan should ever beaten Orton at the time. Hogan always been that way. Nobody gained anything from Hogan beating Shawn or Orton but Hogan's ego.

Someone finally taking the piss out of Hulk Hogan that broadly and to his face after pulling the bollocks he pulled was IMO absolutely fine, deserved and very, very funny. If someone had done it in 1998 WCW would still be on the air because he'd be too busy crying in the shower to shit everything up.

Eh. Hogan destroyed his own brand power years later far worse than anything Shawn could have done to him that night.

I remember a quote Bobby Heenan that went something like, "the people who had a problem with Hogan were the ones who didn't draw money with him".
