Talk about MJF's been swirling around for a while, but Joe is a surprise; he's way too new a signing for it to be about contract disputes, unless he's gotten cold feet very quickly or there was some miscommunication about how he'd be used relative to the two different Khan-owned promotions initially. Or catering sucks and Joe got too hungry and ate MJF and is out with indigestion now. They made a big mistake bringing Joe to Vegas. There are some righteous buffets in those casinos. He samples a couple of those and realizes how AEW catering compares and you’re just asking for problems. 141 2/3% chance of dinner?

Joe has a history of being kidnapped by ninjas so I don’t think we should rule anything out.

WWE and Vince seems to really like fulfilling your commitments. I forget who it was that said he would not show his Indy dates to start the WWE sooner and they dropped him because Vince sees that as a character flaw. Plus all the times they bad mouth no shows and walk outs as recently as Naomi and Sasha Banks I think it was Cesaro, the first time they were interested in him. Much further back, this also happened with Brian Lee. He was working for Smoky Mountain when he got the Fake Undertaker spot in WWF, Vince was impressed enough to ask him about his availability, Lee said he'd ditch his upcoming SMW dates to start with WWF ASAP, Vince immediately warned Cornette and didn't bring in Lee until years later, as Chainz. Even in the openly carny days, Vince didn't care for guys who burned other promoters because he knew it'd mean they'd burn him under the right circumstances, and WWE's way more of a rigid, corporate product now. If this is real, it's the sort of thing that'd convince people there that MJF's going to be too much of a headache to bring in, rather than looking for a chance to snap him up early.

It's hard to believe that a month or two ago, during the CM Punk feud, people were talking about how MJF absolutely needed an AEW Title run, and now we're at this point where it seems like he has one foot out the door.
As for Joe, I can't imagine what he's thinking if he just no-showed. Maybe his injuries have just caught up with him again? Although it sounds like he gave no notice which is just weird.

Interestingly, if the no-show extends to tomorrow* we may have seen the quickest career destruction double-header of all time. WWE, especially now, is not going to hire someone willing to skip out on obligations. *It undoubtedly won't, but... Joe is a much stranger one tbh.

Plus all the times they bad mouth no shows and walk outs as recently as Naomi and Sasha Banks That goes back a long time. In 1991, after Sid agreed to go to the WWF, it's been said he was explicitly told to show up to his last WCW date (SuperBrawl 1) and do what was asked of him after he spoke of no-showing.

God, seems AEW lately just can't get ahead of some contract drama. First it was Max Caster, then Cody, now MJF

The way Joe has been talking in some interviews I wonder if he just isn’t feeling AEW? He pretty much no sold the whole forbidden door thing and just has seemed off in a lot of interviews to me.
MJF is in his own realm when it comes to kayfabe, so I have no clue what to think on that front. Especially as has been previously mentioned, Vince hates talent that doesn’t honor prior commitments…

I hate that I’m bringing this up so please forgive me if I piss off anyone but are we certain MJF is ok? Has he been reached by anyone?

I had MJF pegged as the guy for AEW. Don't know what the hell's going on. WWE and Vince seems to really like fulfilling your commitments. I forget who it was that said he would not show his Indy dates to start the WWE sooner and they dropped him because Vince sees that as a character flaw. Plus all the times they bad mouth no shows and walk outs as recently as Naomi and Sasha Banks Pretty sure that was Cesaro. Yeah, and when Bryan was fired and re-hired back, he still did his booked indy dates except for one or two, and it was reported WWE compensated for bookings they needed him for.

If MJF genuinely no-showed without telling anyone (and that's a big IF) then that's completely out of line. If you're unhappy with something, at least talk to the other side and try to figure things out first. I don't trust any news that comes out about MJF's situation though as he's one of the biggest workers out there.

In general I kind of feel like the cracks are really starting to show in how AEW's structured as a business. Something to be said for trying to keep a loose atmosphere but it does feel like they really need to corporatize things a bit more.

At first I thought "haha Max is f***ing with people" then reading in to it more, I can't see AEW making people pay decent money to "work" them then refund them after wasting time to meet him. The Joe bit is more strange though.

Not sure how true it is, but according to a fan on Twitter, he was seen at a casino. Yeah I saw that to…but what if the report is not accurate? I’m just thinking out loud. Hopefully MJF is ok and not going through something. If this is a work it’s not working for me. If it’s a shoot it’s worse. If it’s MJF having some issues I hope he makes it out the other end. Now I’m just hoping we get a solid report he has been located or contacted by AEW.

I think it was an issue with a poorly-timed rap that Caster made thst led to him being suspended for a bit, then he did stuff like scrub references to AEW from his socials and selling off his gear on ebay.
