The MJF thing definitely needs to be handled internally like as soon as tonight, that's getting a bit too heated for AEW's liking, most importantly I hope he's mentally ok
Joe's is even weirder, he's undefeated, has a belt, is in the Final of a talked up Tourney, there really shouldn't be anything he's outwordly pissed about? I hope that's just a miscommunication

In general I kind of feel like the cracks are really starting to show in how AEW's structured as a business. Something to be said for trying to keep a loose atmosphere but it does feel like they really need to corporatize things a bit more. Problem is, I don't think Tony actually knows how to run a business, or rather, is too busy trying to please everyone. His constant embarrassing tweets, and the fact that pretty much all of the other teams/leagues he runs/is a part of are absolute disasters shows that AEW was the exception rather than the norm. It seems like ever since Cody left, things have really started to go downhill behind the scenes. AEW needs to handle this MJF/Joe stuff as soon as possible. Because otherwise things are gonna get real ugly for them, especially since their PR is absolute hot garbage.

Yeah, we give Vince shit and rightfully so, but Tony needs to be a little more like Vince and set up a clear hierarchy of power with bosses and not try to be everybody's friend.

The Joe thing is certainly weird, since I’m not aware if he has a history with this kind of stuff.
I really don’t know what to think about the MJF situation. It’s MJF so I can’t really tell if he’s kayfabing or not. I will say I am not looking forward to this continuing drama with him. I’m a huge fan of him as a talent, but if him no showing a meet and greet has to with his contract situation, then that’s the dumbest thing he could ever do.

Eeesh, if this MJF situation ends up being as bad as it seems then it really reflects poorly on him. Know your worth and all that but shit like this goes far beyond playing hardball.
The Joe thing is confusing though, since I've never once heard rumors of him pulling anything like this. Hoping it's just a miscommunication or something.

Not sure how true it is, but according to a fan on Twitter, he was seen at a casino. Yeah I saw that to…but what if the report is not accurate? I’m just thinking out loud. Hopefully MJF is ok and not going through something. If this is a work it’s not working for me. If it’s a shoot it’s worse. If it’s MJF having some issues I hope he makes it out the other end. Now I’m just hoping we get a solid report he has been located or contacted by AEW. By all report he is fine. Just chose not to show

This whole thing is weird. Don't have anything to say other than I hope whatever happens with MJF, he ends up happy.
Same with Joe, not sure what was up with that.

If it turns out they have to cancel the match, I would feel awful for Wardlow. This whole build up was to make him into a new star, and the guy who was potentially gonna put him over, could also potentially bail on him. Because that’s incredibly shitty.

If the appearance today is something that isn't covered in MJF's contract or that he was advertised for on the assumption he'd do it without it actually being cleared with him first, he needs to get his story out there, because for better or worse, his onscreen persona's so convincing that most fans are just going to take it for granted he's an arrogant prima donna who blew them off because he wants a higher-paying gig.

Honestly something I've been thinking about for awhile and been meaning to express, I get the sense that whenever AEW reaches a point where it gets bad for a sustained period of time - and it'll happen at some point, every creative pursuit has its down points sooner or later if it goes on long enough - it's going to get baaaaad. Tony seems both too thin-skinned and too stubborn to be able to handle if it reaches a point when the company's being poorly received more often than not.

Maybe Joe never kept up with AEW and is wondering why that security guy he shoved once is making more money than him.

Tony seems both too thin-skinned and too stubborn to be able to handle if it reaches a point when the company's being poorly received more often than not. I agree with all said here. Shoutout to AEW, they're doing their thing but it's been clear from the jump that Tony really ain't as great as many think he is when it comes to this whole thing. I'm not talking about an onscreen conversation, like, I'm not talking about the shows or the talent's hardwork, the angles, I'm not talking about the actual programming we watch. I'm talking about the stuff outside of that namely the behind the scenes, Twitter, the stuff we talk about in threads that go in circles, just stuff like that.
I mean it is what it is.
MJF of all people is someone people were saying would be with the company and have no real issues from the jump and now we find out that there's some internal struggle with him and his contract. This isn't a storyline because honestly if it were, MJF would be seen as the bad guy, not the good guy.
Tony just needs to get some help when it comes to a lot of this. It's not your fault either because it happens with everybody. It happened with Vince, it happened with Bischoff, it happened with Heyman, it happens with every single promotion. You're in the big leagues now homie.

It’s almost certainly true that AEW probably needs to get better with contract stuff and things like that. BUT . . .
If MJF just didn’t show up to this that just reflects badly on him, and is shooting himself in the foot for a future career with a big payoff. The way he gets that big contract is by both sides negotiating in two years. If he’s pissed off AEW, WWE suddenly doesn’t need to offer him the world either. If they still want him after all this, that is.

Idk if I'm buying this until I see some sort of evidence, because if he's just at the casino and not letting AEW know what's up, that's bad He was advertised for this meet and greet for ages I would have to imagine

Sorry but I see this as a 100% work. He's about to go on a Summer of Punk type run with that belt. He's not stupid enough to make TK bow out and lower his price to WWE with this stuff.

It would be pretty odd to do that to fans who paid though, I know they got refunded and re-directed to other stars but that seems really abrupt and you don't wanna piss anyone off legit Joe's also odd, I hope that was just mistiming or miscommunication.

If it's a work, that's stupid. "Hey we advertised MJF, and didn't have him show to work you fans. Ain't it great? It's our Dixie Carter move."
