Edge is like Orton for me now where I'm not really interested in seeing him as a heel anymore and I just want him to stay face for the rest of his run.

I'm cool with it for now as I found this version of Edge boring and can't wait for him to use Metalingus again as his theme song.

I think it's why I'm not as annoyed about it as I usually would be for dropping something like this. If something isn't getting the reaction you want and can't think of a decent way of fixing it, you change it and if people still want to cheer Edge, you let them do it. And putting Finn in there instead, someone who would benefit more from the position than Edge would, and setting up a feud between the two going into the next couple of months (MITB especially) makes sense.

I just don't get why Edge pinned Finn if this was the plan.

I just don't get why Edge pinned Finn if this was the plan. To paraphrase a character voiced by JK Simmons; That's the beauty of it. It likely wasn't.

Yeah, the double turn felt like something they decided at like the last minute.

Like, this is the company that had Wade Barrett help the League of Nations beat the New Day at WrestleMania, remembered his contract was expiring soon so wrote him off the next night by being taken out by those same people when, logically, he should have been the reason they lost, Barrett shit talks them and then gets his ass kicked.
They have their own rules.

They needed the turn, but Finn had to have won on Sunday in order for the turn to work. As it stands right now, it's a severe downgrade as the group is trading a certified ace with a choke artist.
This is a key problem with WWE and why they are incapable of growth as long as the money just magically flows to them; back when they had to write good or at least competent shows, it was for the sake of survival, but given that the funds will come no matter what they do, there is no incentive to pay attention to the logistics of the narrative.

Edge’s haircut reminds me too much of Raiden in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.

Also this is probably because of Cody's injury. They or more likely Edge, had it planned that Priest, Rhea, and Finn would usurp Edge down the road, but Cody's injury left them one main event face down so they fast tracked the turn. And, there's a chance we're gonna get Rhea vs Beth, and for it to happen at SummerSlam.

Great move, as I think it improves both sides of the equation. The faction , and specifically Bálor, are in a better, more interesting spot. And Edge gets to go back to being one of the most over faces on the roster

I just hope we find out that while Finn is in Judgement Day, the Demon is actually in league with R Truth and Dana Brooke.

WWE’s idea of a narrative arc is a vertical line.

NXT 1.0 faction to takeover the wwe after wwe took the nxt they came through from them. ciampa next if this becomes a thing.
(ignores minor details like none of the three being in NXT when 2.0 started, and vince not counting nxt as a "real" brand and just developemntal)

Sure, Cody had the big match and won but he’ll be out at most, what, 6 months? A big hole needs to be filled for the time being and who better than the guy people are cheering anyway, right?
