Looking back at this guys first and second runs in WWE, man he had so many stinkers.
vs. Sheamus that never ended. vs. Cena as (Mex-America) or whatever the hell it was called with Zeb. vs. anyone (league of nations) vs. Ziggler so bad they turned him heel after turning him face. vs. Punk (they just wanted to get the belt off him and onto Punk, no one cared about him) vs. Swagger (I remember people HATED this)
I remember people didn't like the Edge feud either. Mysterio was a cold feud some said.
So basically was he terrible in WWE?

The best angle he ever had was that time he ran over Santa.

The best angle he ever had was that time he ran over Santa. After quickly thinking about it........ I think you are right. So for a guy who won: 2011 Royal Rumble 2011 Money in the Bank 2 x WWE Champion 2 x World Heavyweight 2 x United States He really had a crappy WWE run....

When he debuted his feud with Mysterio seemed promising. I don't recall how it ended though. I know they never had a PPV match. They were on opposing teams at Survivor Series then both in a 4 way ladder match at TLC but no 1 on 1 PPV match which is weird considering it was a high profile feud. I guess they just ended it on TV.

What, no love for the awkward-as-all-hell team of Rob Van Dam and Ricardo Rodriguez?

The mini feud he had with Batista was amusing, but only because Batista was supposed to be the face and Del Rio got cheered over him.

He wasn't terrible, he was something worse - boring. On paper, dude should have been a great wrestler and he had a great look, but somehow, the product was far less than the sum of its parts.

Remember his first feud with Big Show where he hit Big Show with his car and Big Show made it the funniest hit and run ever with his damn bear noises Speaking of Big Show feuds, still confused by the story structure of Alberto decisively beats Big Show in a Last Man Standing match to start the feud, then Alberto beats Big Show in a Last Man Standing match in a fluky way, then Alberto cheats to beat Big Show in a straight match. It's like they wrote the story backwards.

I think the nadir was actually the Orton feud. Did it even count as a feud? They wrestled enough for one, but I'll be damned if I remember any semblance of a story behind it. But it was an incredible combination of two theoretically-talented guys who need motivated opponents to drag their best out of them spiraling down into a black hole together. streamable.com/c4o4k

The Sheamus feud never seemed to end, but it gave us that amazing photoshop that still cracks me up to this day, so I can't hate on it too much.
