Pillman Jr. is a dude who could really use a place like NXT to develop. The free nature of AEW having the Nightmare Factory to train and do I does might work for some folks, but I feel like someone like Pillman Jr. needs a firmer hand to guide him in the right direction. Also a place like NXT 2.0 is a much better, lesser pressure situation that might be ideal for him, cause making it to the being booked on Dynamite vs being booked for NXT is a world of difference. There are so many better prospects that should be on Dynamite compared to Pillman, but he’s fit right learning how to fight with other green dudes with potential like Bron Rex Breakker Steiner. Dynamite is a shark tank where you either start swimming real fast or get eaten alive, and not everyone is going to be like Hook who have both the charisma, skills, and gimmick to start that strong. So, yeah. You're 100% right... Pillman really needs to be in NXT, not the most arguably stacked 2 hours of wrestling per week. I'll bring it up again, but this is a criticism that Swole had that was forgotten. Basically that people in AEW would ask what she wanted to do creatively and she wasn't comfortable in that of coming up with ideas. Not everybody is.

I've wondered if Pillman is a case of someone who does pitch ideas, and gets on TV because of it, but the ideas just aren't good. Pillman: "Give me the title." Tony Khan: "And then what?" Pillman: "Then I beat everybody." So my speculation is that Pillman is the opposite extreme of that. He's had plenty of segments where I could see how the pitch was longer than a sentence. That just doesn't make them good.

I think he had a lot of momentum because of DSOTR and when they went back to touring they wanted to give Pillman a bit of a spotlight. He failed against MJF. They tried again with Black but he botched and seemed to lose all confidence. Then they gave him that John Harbaugh promo and it feels like they realized he ain't ready

Award them some release papers. Pillman has floundered every chance he's been given and Griff needs a tour of the indies for a bit. I see promise in keeping Griff, he's improved a ton since he's been there already. Pillman I won't really care if they let him go, but Griff could like, slide into JAS and be developed by them if Garcia gets forced out. Agreed, I like Griff. He's got a raw edge to him. Acts like he cares about what he's doing. Be a good project to invest in long-term.

I'm assuming they might have thought it was too obvious (or just wanted him to focus only on Cody for some reason) but Arn Anderson mentoring Brian Pillman Jr. was right there. (I guess they could have done Tully too but Pillman Sr. was not in a Horseman group with Tully) I suppose maybe they would've thought putting the second-gen wrestlers together would've been a bit too Legacy, but you're right. Or Arn didn't want to, which would be pretty damning in and of itself. well in my hypothetical Arn wouldn't also randomly be managing Cody... but yeah... (Seriously did Arn help Cody really at all?)

Semi related but did anyone else think it was hilarious finding out that Arn Anderson didn't actually do anything backstage? I always look at him and assume he's still doing road agent stuff so it through me for a loop when he pretty much said uh no I'm just here as a dude.

Griff said he was frustrated on Twitter I have to assume they're breaking up, Garrison should be picked up by someone to make a Trio. Brian Pillman Jr.? Uuuuh... that dude needs a serious resetTo be fair, the same could be said of his father during his initial face run. He even had a similar gimmick back in the day, and while people saw he was athletic as hell, his character was fairly lame. Then he turned heel, started the Hollywood Blondes with Austin, and we saw a whole new side that he could do, and later added another dimension as the Loose Cannon. I’d like to think Pillman Jr. could do the same.

I feel for Pillman because of what he grew up around...
but dude is a straight up idiot at times on social media and was greatly exposed at being in way over his head during his feud with MJF last year and not even being close to ready for any sort of push

I mean Glock Anderson was a great promo but it didn't really help Cody. I loved it but it also made Cody look completely bitch-made.

Yeah, it seems like ok you have Arn here he must be doing backstage stuff too right? Cause it's not really like he's doing much on camera... but nope!
