Another easy win for WWF. They did a drawing on Nitro to determine who would be facing each other in the Lethal Lottery, and couldn't help themselves from doing the "omg Road Warrior Hawk and Road Warrior Animal on opposing teams!" and "omg Rick Steiner and Scott Steiner on opposing teams!" which, without fail, always turned out to be anti-climactic af. The only good way to do BattleBowl was the way they did '91 and '93, by just giving it a whole show and letting the Lethal Lottery drawings be a mystery until right before the match. ah they did a drawing on Nitro? I looked and looked but couldn't find anything so I thought it was all random. Were all the matches announced or just a few?

Beware of dog.
Sting was my dude, but Lethal Lottery should have always been a free clash style tv special.
Beware of Dog looks like a really good card considering the time period. Strap match, casket match, a warrior match, Mero and Johnson were hot new faces, two large dudes Vader and Yoko going at it.
The only problem was the bulldog Main Event just like the year before with Diesel and Bret he never felt like he had a chance in hell.
This is where HBK really started to feel lame with Jose still following him around and being in 5th grade I had no idea why two guys would be fighting over Diana.

I went with Slamboree on this one, as I wasn't a big fan of Shawn around this time.

WWE... I hated the original Lethal Lottery and never cared about it after.

I think they drew the first round on Nitro and then they drew the second round at Slamboree.

In Your House for me, Undertaker VS Goldust would have intrigued me (Even though it's the 3rd Casket Match in less than a year) and the Strap Match as well, I think Yokozuna VS Vader would have gained my interest as well.
Didn't WWF have to give out refunds because of the Storm?
Also I'm pretty sure that Hall hadn't turned up on WCW just yet either.

Wow both these cards are stinkers. No Bret hurts. And as a previous poster said, the casket match is a cool matchup but it’s the third one in a short time period.
I’ll go Slamboree. I still like the talent pool more.

I don't remember the Jake/Bradshaw match even being advertised. I think it was always meant to be a dark match and literally was as no lights during the show. Wikipedia says it was only a 30 second match with Jake defeating Bradshaw. That's crazy.
The Lethal Lottery concept wore thin by 1996, even though it was only the third PPV with it. It was a kayfabe killer in 1996. There were no matches on that card where it was a random guys not in a team or feuding. It was almost all guys related to each other whether it be a team on opposite side or a feud on the same side. 1992 and 1993 saw very few like that. 1991 saw a little bit but not much compared to 1996.

I thought both cards were really good, but WCW's GAB 1996 was better.

King Of The Ring for me, Undertaker VS Mankind would have me interested.
Great American Bash does not look good however, were they teasing Hall and Nash for this event?
I'm guessing Bash At The Beach VS International Incident will not be close

It's WCW for me this time. Great American Bash has got too much going for it.
With exception of the Konnan match, I would be interested in the entire card.
Normally wouldn't get too excited about football players, but Kevin Greene was a lot of fun. With Hogan out of the picture, seeing Luger get a title shot is a nice change of pace.
Plus, wasn't the Outsiders appearance pretty heavily hyped? I think it was at least as much a draw as any of the advertised matches.

The WWF card looks better but I'd have chosen GAB due to the intrigue over the Nash/Hall stuff. Nash debuted on Nitro 6 days earlier and Bischoff said he'd try to have 3 guys ready for them if they showed up and wanted a fight at GAB (which ended up being false advertising as all that happened was Nash powerbombing Bischoff and the match would be at the next PPV).

WCW. Kevin Greene was wrestling before they ran the celebrity tag match into the ground so that likely would have been enough for me.
Who the hell is El Gato though?

King of the Ring just largely based on a comparison of the main events.

King of the Ring.
I like one night tournaments, I like Steve Austin. I wouldn't know enough about Rey for it to sway me at the time and had no big love for the football guys. Lord Regal & Sting would be tempting though.

It has to be the Bash. The Hall and Nash stuff was on fire and they really sold it hard for that PPV.
