If this goes through, that's a really big deal. DAZN carries a lot of top name international soccer leagues like Bundesliga, La Liga, and Serie A. Lots of boxing, too.

Big deal for sure, though I just recently learned it's pronounced Da Zone and not Da Zn

MLW had a deal with them and it went nowhere.

MLW had a deal with them and it went nowhere. True, though this is obviously a way bigger company than MLW ever has been. Still, may be smart to keep expectations in check for now.

I think any streaming deal would be good for fans wanting to rewatch AEW's PPV library, any original content they do. Viewership wise in the UK they'd be better off staying with ITV.
People tend to get a bit carried away with how huge these deals actually are (as was the case with the HBO Max rumours). Reality is there are sports and events happening on DAZN and the like all the time that nobody has ever heard of.

MLW had a deal with them and it went nowhere. Yeah but it's mlw, nothing they do goes anywhere. That's not entirely fair. People who do well enough for themselves go somewhere, just, somewhere else.

Currently they are on free TV in the UK, meaning any household with a TV can access them.
The station they are, ITV4, on loves to muck about with the times of Dynamite on a Friday, but they advertise it pretty well and make a decent deal of it on their streaming service.
If AEW does a deal that sees it shoved behind a paywall on a random fight network, they will lose eyes. Not a good idea imo.

I could be on board with this depending on the terms. It could be much similar to the WWE deal with BT sports in that the WWE Network has the ppvs and back catalog but does not air Raw or SD until four wks after it appears live on BT. That way they can still keep the ITV deal for Dynamite and Rampage and still make the content on DAZN appealing.
What it means for their ongoing relationship with FITE TV I am not sure if though. Unsure they could keep their AEW plus subscription service and certainly would be unlikely to use any other platform than DAZN for ppvs - which currently air on FITE. That said, the AEW plus service offers the ability to watch dynamite and rampage live and co-exists just fine with the existing ITV deal, so maybe that could be possible.
Would make more sense though to ditch FITE altogether and have DAZN air the live dynamite and rampage, retaining the ITV deal for the repeat on free to air. Having historical - and ROH - content would be a big attraction for any kind of streaming service they might develop, and if they could throw new ppvs in as part of the subscription too like the wwe network does 100% sign me up.

DAZN are definitely not a widely watched channel here, far smaller than BT sports or Sky sports. Shifting to them will effectively lock out almost everyone.

Important to note, what they carry differs GREATLY between each country. DAZN used to have MLS, MLB, EPL, Champions League and NFL in Canada. Now they just have NFL, and TSN gives out RedZone for free, which even makes that mostly useless now

Matchroom Boxing - I would guess 95+% of UK subscribers are boxing fans UEFA Womens Champions League Liga F LIV Golf PTO Tour Super League Triathlon Hexagone MMA Brave CF Street League Skateboarding Nitro Rallycross Prime Time Wrestling

This better not end the Fite deal. They usually have the cheapest prices for PPV's in the UK.
Not only having to pay a monthly fee but then also the cost of a PPV is a horrible deal. Especially if you really don't give a shit about sports and don't want to be signed up to yet another streaming service.
