Thanks for posting this. I haven't finished but the part about how he balances his schedule is very interesting.
He's cringey on social media but I usually enjoy his interviews. He's an interesting guy.

This actually changes my view of TK. I look at him in a more favorable light from this interview. He seems like a nice dude.

My impression has always been that Tony is a good dude that let's his emotion get the best of him from time to time and that gives peopl3 ammo. I do think some just want to hate Tony though for various reasons

While I think he could do things to be a better boss and booker. He's always had his heart in the right place.

He's an interesting guy. I want to like him (well as much as you can want to like a billionaire), which is what makes him so frustrating sometimes. I think Tony is ultra far-removed from the Vince world of f***ed-upness. If anything, I genuinely think he's a guy who wants to do good and make people happy and is probably as nice as any billionaire gets. I just also think that he's got to learn how to crack the whip of professionalism and remind people that he's The Boss (and I don't mean Sasha Banks), and that means you have to be less than kind to people you genuinely like and care for otherwise. It started out relatively easy because The Elite all seem like affable guys who'd let your grandma pin them if it'd get them over for AEW, but as the roster has grown so have egos. "Tony Khan needs to grow a pair of balls" is a bit of a crass way to put it, IMO, but it's still kinda on point for what he's been dealing with, and it's starting to bleed over into the fans putting heat on the company for it.

Helwani calls his interview with Tony Khan "one of the most frustrating" and "not so fun" interviews in his career

Helwani calls his interview with Tony Khan "one of the most frustrating" and "not so fun" interviews in his career I knew this would happen as I was watching the interview. Tony made it clear early on that he doesn't discuss people's contracts and doesn't/can't discuss the CM Punk situation, yet Ariel continued to ask about those things, along with "what have you and Triple H talked about". Of course he was going to hit a brick wall.

Helwani calls his interview with Tony Khan "one of the most frustrating" and "not so fun" interviews in his career I can see both sides of it. On one hand there were some things I think Tony could have given a little more to. But I also think Tony saying he didn't want to discuss contract situations was fair as well

You aren't going to get the big scoop if no one else is. The interview came off fine though, it's just like, yeah no shit he didn't answer those, he isn't answering those types of questions for anyone rn.

I both appreciate Ariel asking those kinds of questions but at the same time, he knew that would happen. The same thing would happen if he pushed Hunter on the Vince allegations or his connections to the Trump family. I do think Tony too often pivots on certain questions but Ariel also had to know he was wasting his time and could've gotten more material on other areas.

Throwing a bitch fit and calling anyone who says AEW is better than WWE a liar is really a hilarious way to act when your questions don't get answered, Ariel. Where were your questions about Vince when you interviewed Triple H.
This dude is a journalist; someone please educate him on 'subjectivity vs. objectivity'

If there's anything Tony Khan keeps very close to the chest, it's contract details. Most he'll ever talk about contracts is when a bigger name re-signs or comes to AEW and even then, it's never specifics. Like, we still don't know a single thing about the Cody Rhodes-Tony Khan negotiations besides vagaries and maybe something from less reputable sources that was never corroborated by more legitimate sources (aka, bullshit).
Ariel has gotten his career f***ed over by Dana White because he asked tough questions about UFC and he'll always have my support on that front. But he can be kind of a petulant child about some petty things, too.

Interviewers have the right to ask the questions. Interviewees have the right not to answer them. It doesn't always make for the best interviews, but it is what it is.

On the subject of contracts. I've noticed in the wrestling world, these things tend to be tightly guarded. You don't really know years and amount.
They seem to be in a bubble for the sports world. Is there a reason for this being so tightly guarded?
Yet, the NHL, NBA, NFL, MLB and other team sports let it all out there.

WWE is the only publically traded wrestling company so theirs are the most likely to be public...None of these other wrestling companies have to divulge information to anyone outside of shareholders I do not believe and employee-related govt/tax people. Those other sports also have player unions to look out for the financial benefit of the player

I find the guy really off putting and awkward, but the dude has said some bonehead things over the past few years and almost shown to much behind the curtain. Glad he’s keeping his mouth shut and seems to have done some PR training.
