Also worth noting the AEW world title belt reveal segment from way back when featured MJF and Hangman if I remember right

Note that Mox is wearing Regal colors like Bryan does. Good foreshadowing of the potential Regal turn. They didn't reference it on commentary, but called it all the same.

I'm not mad, but get ready for a long long run. Def going close to a year I hope they don't do the will he jump to WWE as AEW champ storyline, but I think they will so I wouldn't be surprised if it's goes to Winter is Coming of next year.

I don't think he necessarily needs a year long reign or anywhere close to it, but if it's like 4-6 months of solid challenges, etc, then that's plenty to return some normalcy.

I'm absolutely expecting a year long reign where he goes on and on and on and on about the stupid bidding war thing and I hope I'm wrong because every part of that sounds horrendous.

If MJF still gets cheered on Dynamite this week, then TK needs to tell him âI donât care if you want to be a heel or not Max, you are a babyface because that is what THE FANS want.â
Itâs be like if in 1997, Vince McMahon still stubbornly tried to keep Steve Austin heel no matter what the fans were saying. It would have been stupid.

Good stuff, now get him a POC challenger ffs. As I said in the main thread, the era of "written in stone champion" is now over We have basically crowned every champion TK imagined with the title and now it is "wide open". With that said, there is reason Swerve/Lee should not be an AEW title match next year Eddie should be someone on the list to challenge MJF I really hope you are correct ,the title could use some wild unexpected choices.

The main event reminded me of an old school NWA match. And it was better than David S Pumpkins version of NWA haha

Loved it. Loved the Regal turn. Loved the fans were with it every step of the way. Love that he's still kind of a tweener (I didn't watch the scrum yet as I just finished the PPV) but you know the fans are still going to cheer him like the conquering hero, which is amazing considering he cheated to win, but in a better way than the boring Diamond Ring. As long as he doesn't come out Wednesday and say "I fooled all of you, you can suck it, ha ha got you again idiot marks" they have the makings of THE pillar of AEW on their hands. (unless he said something like that during the scrum then nevermind...) Regal can explain himself, MJF can gloat, the fans will eat it up, and so will I. Also dude still has the best ass in AEW. Stupid shitty camera work making me miss it in the beginning

Cool, I guess. Iâve never been much of an MJF fan, so this wonât inspire me to make AEW canât miss tv. Doubly so, if they go the likely route with a stupid long reign where they talk about HHH and going to the WWE with the belt or some such nonsense.

His scrum promo was awesome by the way. But like, what kind of muffins did he eat? Gotta give us the important information, man!

I can't help feeling they missed a step of the story. Losing due to trying to do the right thing or cheating to counter cheating would add to the character depth he was getting in the Punk fued.
But after all the nonsense of the last few months maybe it's best to signal a new era.

And it was great. He also used a certain tennis enthusiastâs catchphrase which will no doubt get some attention.

So I figure MJF is going to be busy with BCC or whatever is left of it since Regal turned. But I always had this feeling in the back of my mind, what does TK have against MJF being able to maintain a stable?
If the idea is supposed to be heâs so toxic and self obsessed that he canât keep any real friends, I sorta get it, but I think I was one of the few who liked The Pinnacle (and also The Dynasty in MLW). Maxâs character is a POS but I can see him buttering up whoever he needs to in order to maintain an advantage.
Same with The Firm, Stokley and Max being enemies is interesting but thereâs a side of me that wants a top face (not Mox, he needs a break) cutting through MJfâs minions in order to bring integrity back to the title (maybe Perry, Starks, Hangman, whoever. I was hoping for Cody a year ago to take MJFâs title but he hopped to NY).

Mox deserves a lot of credit for working through planned vacations and carrying the ball through a tough time but it really was time for a new champion and MJF is the perfect choice right now.
