Jinder Mahal, Tyrus, and Eric Young are probably the Shield crew from hell that I'd go with. Matt Taven was gonna be in here but his reign was incredibly fun to talk about for reasons including but not limited to Those Shirts and I think that puts him above the other 3.

EVIL winning the double title in New Japan. Started out as a cool shocking moment, but pretty much everything after the initial turn went wrong. EVIL still hasn't recovered from that, pretty crazy how much winning the world title hurt his stock.

Jinder at the very least had a cool entrance and showed with the AJ match where he dropped the belt that he could work a good match when it was booked to his strengths. If he had dropped the belt to Nakamura at SummerSlam (without having cut that racist promo on him beforehand) I think his reign would be looked back on more fondly.
There is literally zero upside to Tyrus. Wretched wrestler and an awful human being.

Like there were several PPVs mid reign where I just ended up being like WOOOO JINDER LET'S f***ING GO while actively disliking his title reign. Tyrus is like the absolute bottom in every way.

I mean objectively it's Titus but it's Roman Reigns for me just on the level of how constant him as champion has been for the past decade and how little of it I've enjoyed.

It truly is hilarious to look at the NWA championship reigns where some of the people at the top of the list are absolute legends in the business and then they're interspersed with guys who you immediately go "huh?" or "that goof got the title for that long?"
Lou Thesz, Harley Race, Ric Flair....Dan Severn, Magnus, Rob Conway. Seriously, that last one is epically hilarious.
Even a somewhat credible champion like Jeff Jarrett was the worst part of a product that succeeded despite his misery booking. Had he been a mostly a transitional champion, it would have been okay, but by no means should he have had the belt for over 1,000 days, let alone SIX reigns.
Heh...Tyrus will probably carry the belt for a couple years before he's "stripped" of it or something.

I've not seen Tyrus in NWA, but if it's true that his ring work has somehow REGRESSED from his indy/WWE days, then he gets the benefit of the doubt of being the worst. Let me put it this way: He's 49, and you don't forget that fact for a moment watching him plod around. He looks old, real old, when he wrestles.

NWA when they put the belt on whoever was loyal enough to pay for their own flights was the best company in the world

NWA when they put the belt on whoever was loyal enough to pay for their own flights was the best company in the world Kahagas becoming champ because he would get free flights because he worked at an airport was hilarious.
And yet he's still better than Jinder.

I'm gonna throw an unpopular opinion and say that I also hated Adam Pearce's excessively self-indulgent vanity tour with the NWA title.

Oh my god I knew it was to do with him getting his own flights but not that he was literally using his employee privileges that's f***ing hilarious. My friend could have become NWA champion with her Best Western Hotels discount.

Close run thing between Jinder Mahal and Tyrus. Not sure who to pick. Donβt hinder that Jinder. Tyrus? Always a virus.

I'm gonna throw an unpopular opinion and say that I also hated Adam Pearce's excessively self-indulgent vanity tour with the NWA title. I have mixed feelings on it. On one hand, he and Colt Cabana did bring attention back to it, but some of the booking and execution of it was just kind of ridiculous. I am still glad Colt got to win a world title, period, but I remember some of the feud being really convoluted, and that was also after Pierce had been world champ for a while.

In fairness to Jinder, they really did try to book him like a top guy and the WWE title around his waist did not look out of place but he had a bad reign with the constant cheating and never looking strong despite them putting him over Orton multiple times
Magnus TNA title reign. Extremely broke version of authority and he played major second fiddle to Dixie Carter. Bobby Roode cheating a lot in his TNA title reign but it did serve some purpose but Magnus cheated and looked horrible in the process to the point they straight out copied WM with Eric Young winning the title only cause he had a beard

My outside the box answer is Kenny Omega NJPW title reign
One of the more anticipated title reigns in the last 20 yeas and he really did nothing as champion. Bullet Club messiness with him just bowing out of that and them trying to force Omega/Cody into this epic feud when Cody for me was at his most boring. Injuries and ultimately him leaving NJPW did not let that title reign be anywhere near what it should been coming off Okada historic run and the match that got to the title change
