Dude's gassed to the gills, and is a worse flippy spot guy than most of the guys half his size who get constant stick for it, and can't cut a promo to save his life. What is this guy's appeal? Is it just being "Flippy McMuscles"?

He's good at making others look good, that's more or less his role.

If you find out, please tell me. The guy is good for a match, but there's really nothing at all appealing about him otherwise.

That said, I hope his role goes to Luchasaurus once he's back from injury.

He looks like a Double Dragon game's first-level boss. That's kinda noteworthy, maybe?

He pays tribute to Kanyon which is pretty cool.

He's really good raw material for better wrestlers to work with. There's an inherent story to someone who's big and intimidating and ostentatiously agile - a sense of threat that's emphasized by nearly everything he does. He can do most any physical thing in wrestling, and he's built an act that emphasizes that along with his appearance while working with his limitations in selling and story logic.
So like - I don't think any promotion needs him, but I think any promotion that has him can find a use for him.

He's pretty much what you said. You either like it or you don't, there's nothing really more than what you see at surface level with him.

People see things in Brian Cage? I just checked your survey from last year, he was FAN's 158th favourite aew wrestler out of 160. officialfan.proboards.com/thread/619454/aew-roster-survey-2022?page=5So if anything everyone is missing his redeeming qualities, at the least I'd have put him above the likes of Pilman Jr, Shafir and Bobby Fish. Also Billy Gunn is at 120 on the list, got to expect that to improve this year.

Dude's got interesting, varied offense and is a damn fine seller, which are both somewhat rare among guys with his vibe and look. When not booked like a steamroller, which makes him an utter bore, he's not bad at all.

Dude's been putting in the work since he's popped back up on TV consistently. I don't know if I need to see him main eventing or whatever, but he plays his role well.
Plus, shockingly, while still being gigantic he actually seems a bit less "made of steroids" looking these days.

I see pain that could only come from the man who was once FCW's Kris Logan

He's a good mid level hoss threat that a lot of different guys and styles can work with
Willie Mack looks like he got a AEW job off of working with Cage twice, so it's working

I have no idea.
I said in the Dynamite live thread this week that Cage is the wrestler I irrationally hate for no apparent reason and I stand by that, hahaha.

I get they wanted a showcase for Takeshita but Cage is a channel changer at worst and forgettable at best.

I like his look/presence, his move set, his tributes to Kanyon. He’s a hoss that can do impressive things. There’s something there, even if it’s not main event level.

He doesn't get booked to his strengths and AEW is not the place for him to shine IMO. Let him go be a beast in Impact and he'd get over. It's hard to take him seriously with his current booking.
