40 Million per season for Danny Derps.
Big bet on Daboll fully transforming him into Josh Allen 2.0, there.

Rodgers is a good pickup for the Jets IF they also find a guy to learn behind him for the length of his run, otherwise they’re just going to be in the same position in like two or three years.

Falcons were all in on the nasty man, but aren't interested in the former mvp. Disgusting The optics look bad but the front office is being smart here. Watson at least might have gone to them, Lamar isn't gonna be leaving Baltimore. Ravens are just going to let another team hammer out a contract Lamar and his agent agree to just to match it. So why would Atlanta waste their time trying to negotiate with a player they have no shot at? Because if the Ravens weren't planning on matching they would have just traded Lamar for more picks than the 2 firsts they'd get in this situation. The Falcons have the second most cap space in the league. They should be able to structure a deal that the Ravens literally wouldn’t be able to match.

Cap is shown to be an illusion and Baltimore could always find ways to make it work.

Wow Giants. This better lead to me eating a big crow sandwich. For certain. With Barkley tagged and Jones signed, there’s only pennies left for them to make significant upgrades to their roster. Yes, Golladay is history and maybe Leonard Williams if he wants to play hardball, but anything less than Josh Allen numbers from Jones and a playoff berth for the Giants will be a major failure on Schoen, Daboll and company. They still need to go big on defense and O-Line later this Spring in the draft.

40 Million per season for Danny Derps. Big bet on Daboll fully transforming him into Josh Allen 2.0, there. There is absolutely no middle class for NFL quarterbacks anymore. There are now three quarterback categories: - Rookie contracts (examples: Jalen Hurts, AAV $1.5 million; Mac Jones, AAV $3.8 million; Justin Fields, AAV $4.7 million) - Backups (examples: Tyrod Taylor, AAV $5.5 million; Case Keenum, AAV $6 million; Teddy Bridgewater, AAV $6.5 million) - Established starters (examples: Kirk Cousins, AAV $35 million; Derek Carr, AAV $37.5 million; Dak Prescott, AAV $40 million) With all due respect to quarterbacks like Daniel Jones, there is no world in which he is worth $40 million respectively. The moment your starting quarterback hits free agency, he is all but guaranteed to command - at minimum - $35 million annually, and that number is only going up, regardless of his past performance or career history. There's no room left for the $20 million starting quarterback, and if he does exist, he's going to be fighting for his job the moment he steps foot on the field at training camp (think guys like Jameis Winston last season or Jimmy Garoppolo this coming season), and that's not exactly a fiscally sound way to spend that amount of money.

The Giants did what they had to do, but do we have Kurt Cousin Jr. now?

Lamar isn't going anywhere. If the Ravens let him walk, Baltimore is going to riot(maybe literally). There might be some teams crazy enough to give up two first rounders for Lamar. Whoever has the draft capital and really wants that franchise QB, they're gonna make a run We'll see how crazy the Raiders and Jets get if neither of them get Rodgers...

Sketchy pass rush, middling defensive backfield, no run defense whatsoever, and they don't get turnovers. No reason that the Vikings, with Jefferson, Cook, Thielen, Osborn and Hockensen all healthy, couldn't put up 35+ against that Giants defense. Then Cuz threw a 3-yard out route to Hockensen on 4th and 7 with their season on the line. Cousins isn't head and shoulders above any of his QB contemporaries in the NFL. He's also 34, so you know he is who is at this point in his career. Jones will be 26 with room for improvement. With the money he's been given, it better be a hell of a lot of improvement too.

I like Jones better than most, but comparing one game against their entire careers? The Giants would be absolutely delighted if they get Kirk Cousins production out of Danny Dimes for the next five years.

In the grand scheme of what two first rounders will get you (both via trade and even in the draft), Lamar would be an unbelievable investment.
