Does Cody beat him at a later date? Is Jey going to be the one to dethrone him? Are they gonna make Solo the Batista to Roman’s HHH? Or will they give it to the next FOTC like Theory or Breakker? I feel like he’s going to lose at Mania 40 since that’s a landmark mania. Idk how they’re gonna keep the Bloodline story going for that long though

Seriously. This is pro wrestling. You get hurt all the time. Booking a dude as champ for YEARS in a row is just begging for Vacant to claim the title.

At this point it doesn't seem likely they have an endgame. Roman's just gonna keep it until "eventually", he'll get hurt or retire and they'll talk for years abotu how Roman never really lost the world titles and the true lineage of champions died when he retired truly dominant and better than the geeks left fighting for his used goods.

God knows what now. Cody seemed like the natural endgame if they couldn’t get Rock so unless Dwayne picked up the damn phone and committed to a match for next year I’m not sure.
Jey would make sense from a storyline perspective, and Cody was cheated out of the title so they could do a rematch if they wanted to. Whether it would have the same heat or emotion as last night is up for debate.

Roman drops the belt to Cody or someone else, probably at one of the b grade events. The new champ underwhelms the audience as wwe squandered the big pay off. They conclude the new champ is just a flop and put the title back on Roman.

They can't be holding out for the Rock, surely? I can see them getting one match out of him, but I doubt he'd commit to more. That means he'd come in, lose, and we're back where we started again.
The Bloodline and family story has been built up enough that Rock vs Roman Reigns for the true Head of the Table title is enough of a sell, isn't it? It doesn't need the title.

In reality, I still think it's going to be Cody but it should have been last night. Nothing else is going to be as dramatic or have the same feel as that match last night.

Cody at a later date is such terrible booking that it has become the most likely booked outcome.
I think the injury idea thrown out is probable.
My other guess: Montez Ford. WWE clearly wants a homegrown talent to be the one to dethrone Reigns, and he fits the mold. Young, hasn't been pushed yet, great charisma, great ring work, in a relationship with another major star. It makes sense. Now when that would be? Probably Wrestlemania XLI if Roman can stay healthy.

But given what RAW is up against tonight (San Diego State vs. Connecticut AKA the only time a lot of people in the USA care about college basketball) and given the news, this wouldn't surprise me one bit. |
