Blimpie still being around is crazy. I remember liking them as a kid cuz they had banana peppers. Then it just went away after the 90s, and I never saw one ever again. Their modern logo sucks.

Oh, and McFarlane Toys is apparently still a thing. I ran across a store selling some of their figures recently and I was amazed as I had not thought about them in years. I remember working with some guys back in the mid-00's who were obsessed with their sports figures. This one for sure. I was HUGE into McFarlane Sports Picks from 2005-2010ish and used to buy them all the time, primarily NHL. I haven’t seen new McFarlane figures for sale in years. Probably makes more money from the DC license.

The Black Eyed Pea was a restautant chain specializing in southern food. They had a great pot roast dinner on the menu. There were 2 in my area that I used to eat at, but in 2016 both suddenly closed with no warning. (And I really mean no warning. The local news interviewed a waitress that finished up her day of work, went home, and went back to work the next day only to find the door boarded shut.)
Wikipedia says they had 130 locations at their peak, and there are still 10 locations active. 1 in Arlington, TX and 9 in Colorado.

Kind of going in another direction, but there were companies that completely disappeared, then somehow came back...I think a lot of them thrived regionally, but then found a way to rebound;
Little Caesars disappeared for about 15 years, and now they're relatively common.
Sonic has disappeared and come back...and disappeared again.
Hardee's was all but dead in the late 90's, and without a doubt the worst of the big 4 burger places (McDonald's, Burger King and Wendy's were all leagues better than they were). Then they changed their menu and easily became the best of the bunch.
Cheddar's I thought was a local place as a kid, then it went under...and now I've seen a few of them spring back up.
Dunkin' Donuts was huge as a kid, but overnight Krispy Kreme came in and became the rage, and the only doughnut chain for like a decade. Then Dunkin' Donuts came back, mostly due to their overpriced sugar drinks, and now there's a bunch all over the place.
Still waiting for that Boston Market comeback story. They sprung up briefly and then disappeared, despite very yummy food.

The only two times in my life I didn't have at least one Sonic near me I was in Virginia and then Germany. While Hardees does have a good burger now. I loved it when they were Roast beef and chicken. They had some great fried chicken back in the 90s.

I never see anyone eating in the dining area, and sometimes I’ll see a sign on the door saying DRIVE-THRU ONLY. I do see cars going through, so I guess the restaurant makes some money at least.

In the mid-late 90’s A&W’s were primarily limited to mall food courts but they did a massive brand re-launch around 2000, aggressively targeted an older customer base with nostalgia based marketing, started opening a bunch of small market stand alone stores, business boomed and now they’re behind only McDonald’s for fast food here

Book Depository until Amazon announced it was closing it yesterday. It's been a Amazon-owned Husk for a decade, I know, but really could've sworn the brand had been retired ages ago.

Dunkin' has always been dominant in the Northeast and New England. I don't remember if Krispy Kreme even attempted to make inroads here or not. But if they did, they didn't succeed. Though you'll see Krispy Kremes sold in boxes at grocery stores at least.
It's interesting to me that A&W in the US has a completely different menu than A&W in Canada, though. The only things the two have in common is the name, its root beer, and being fast food.

It closed down while I was off in college, so I didn’t notice it was gone until it had a resurgence about 10 years ago and everyone in LA was losing their minds about a new Dunkin’ Donuts opening That being said, I didn’t think it was that big until I was in South Korea back in 09 and there a giant ass DK on every block. More prevalent than Starbucks.

My church used to have fundraisers where you could buy them by the dozen. IIRC, they had to go pretty far to get them, maybe Rhode Island or New Hampshire? But yeah, Dunkin never went anywhere around here.

We have a Radio Shack down the road. It's just a phone store, but it exists as a name.
The only Fuddruckers I ever knew was in Cal City, in the parking lot of a Child World.

They tried to set one up inside of Knobels Grove amusement park and the pushback was so insane they dropped the plan lol
