If wrestlers pitch their own ideas, let them watch and understand good wrestling, let them watch movies and tv shows, show them what a book is and what wonderous things you can do with it. I think part of the problem is that wrestlers in AEW have freedom but no idea about how a story works. Would not surprise me if it was also a bit of that these wrestlers maybe have a bit more fantastical ideas but do not know how to impliment it within the grounded nature of the company. Bray Wyatt is just prime study material for such things.

WWE is very lucky HHH has Heyman helping telling the stories.

Jade essentially keeping the belt warm for Statlander for months shows that he does not know how to do Plan B. He does though. He has multiple times especially for the world champion Jade was not at the top of cards and was holding a secondary title... I don't think he himself saw the need to pivot it in that particular instance, especially when Jade was not getting booed out of buildings or causing a ton of negative heat on a lot of shows, including the night she lost the belt, when she was getting a lot of positive reaction. No that does not mean he made the right decision in keeping the belt on Jade and that's not what I'm saying, but I also don't believe that decision means he's incapable of pivoting, or having to think up quick fixes on the fly, he's done it multiple times.

Who should he bring in? I'm wondering who is out there that isn't either out of touch, washed up, or both.
You've got Jake Roberts on staff who's arguably one of the greatest minds wrestling ever produced, and Arn, who was "Big Match John"s personal agent.
That's just off the top of my head. Are they both old school guys? Yes. Would I let them turn my in-ring product into 80's Jim Crockett? Hell no, not if I want to keep the audience I've built.
But... they are 2 guys that knew how to work within the confines of weekly TV and having a LOT of time to fill, and I would trust their judgment when it comes to "Person 'X' is ready, strap them up"

Both have also said they do not want to be part of creative or agents on their podcasts. They'd rather just be on air talent/coaches. Anyways if I remember the last report, the booking committee was Tony, Jericho, Moxley, Danielson, Will Washington and QT Marshall with the Bucks, Kenny, and Dustin Rhoades adding input.

Sonjay is very high ranking. I presume Punk will continue his input like he did while he was around.

To me, I think a refresh on who is prominent on the shows is in order. I know people don't like the cycling of people because it takes some wrestler's heat, but there's no good reason Swerve is still stuck in the undercard right now while less developed and less talented people are consistently on screen. I know TK sees value in Swerve, and I think having him be in the final 2 of the Battle Royal shows that. A match that also had like Ricky Starks, Jay White, Penta, and Fenix in it as well. But yeah, Swerve is f***ing ready, and needs the rocket strapped to him now. I don't care if it's heel vs. heel, him vs. MJF would make for amazing television. A cowardly heel that's all talk and cheats vs. a heel that is dangerous and unpredictable...it would be SO good. None of MJF's usual bullshit would work, and Strickland would feel like a legit threat. And ofc Swerve wins, and has a great run with the belt.

The minds are out there. Aside from the coaches and other guys like Danielson and Jericho that are already there, there's bound to be tons of other people who could help. I know producing and booking aren't the same thing but you have to remember it was a guy like Jamie Noble who did the match for what was it Taker/HHH or Taker/Shawn at one of the Wrestlemanias? I think Brian Myers said that in a shoot with KC.

Swerve I think is more of a case of patience. They've presented him as a star ever since the heel turn and he's only lost matches cause of his own ego. He unfortunately was one of the victims of the Pillar's match getting the focus. Should be a champ real soon though.

Y'know who would be nice to have working in a creative role for AEW? Like, one woman.

I don't even think it's him being head booker is the issue; its insisting on being the main man running Dynamite/Rampage, Collision AND ROH, all the while being a major executive with a NFL team and a Premier League football team. It's literally too much, how in god's name could anyone keep this amount of plates spinning. If you commit to this much, you're really not committing to anything.
