Not sure why this came to mind, but what are some instances of ring announcers messing up, saying wrong name etc?
Obviously more common for commentators to flub a line every now and then given how often they're on, but ring announcers screw up too right?

Kevin Kelly and a sadly high amount of Japanese names. Which is particularly egregious when you're the English play-by-play for a Japanese promotion.

One that comes to mind in recent memory was on the first episode of AEW Saturday Collision, where Dasha called Buddy Matthews by his WWE name "Buddy Murphy". GCW ring announcer Emil Jay and possibly some other ring announcers pronounce Miedo Extremo as "Miedo Extreemo". The "tre" in Spanish is pronounced as in "Tre' LaMar". I know some people that speak English may not pay attention to this because they don't speak Spanish but considering I speak Spanish, this kinda bothers me a little. Kevin Kelly and a sadly high amount of Japanese names. Which is particularly egregious when you're the English play-by-play for a Japanese promotion. He also had difficulty pronouncing Andrade El ídolo's name. I think Kelly doesn't have experience in other languages aside of English.

On the live airing of WrestleMania V, Howard Finkel introduced King Haku as "King Tonga." If you watch on WWE Network or Peacock, you can clearly hear that "King Haku" was added later.

Lillian Garcia. No example needed, just Lillian Garcia. There used to be a site that compiled all of her messups in the Attitude Era. I wish someone remembered it so I could Internet Archive it. That and the PTC SmackDown reviews = my comedy, unintentional or not, on the Net.

"Nature Boy" Buddy Rydell (not only was that the wrong name, but Landell was supposed to be a mystery substitute for Dean Douglas)
Geez, the one PPV I attended had that, the debut of Xanta Klaus, the hogpen match, the beginning of Razor fears Goldust, King Mabel, Bob Backlund as a Memphis stallfest heel. What a winner I chose!

When Christy Hemme was a ring announcer in TNA, she screwed up someone’s introduction and the wrestler backed her into a corner and shoved his crotch into her face.

Mel Phillips was CONSTANTLY screwing up stuff when he did the televised house shows. There were times he'd introduce one guy, then start to repeat that guy's hometown and weight for the second guy.

Lillian Garcia. No example needed, just Lillian Garcia. And for the most part that was due to her wanting to read off of cards and Vince claiming that announcers reading off of cards wasn’t the right th8ng to do (despite the fact that Howard Finkel was known to do that as late as WM5. He did that during the Powers of Pain/Mr. Fuji vs Demolition match.)

Jim Ross and I think Lilian Garcia used to get Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho mixed up quite a bit.

One of her less heralded slips, but the WWE have completely ignored one of Lillian's slips. May 2002, Taker v RVD for the WWE title, and RVD "won" but they did a dusty finish and restarted the match, and Taker won. When Taker got his three count (the second of the match, after RVD had thought he'd won, remember), Lillian announced Undertaker as "and the NEW WWF Champion".
Also never repeated for obvious reasons but Jim Ross excitedly telling us that Chris Benoit had just become "the new Intercontinental Championship" instead of Champion had me in stitches at the time.
