I really wish Tony wouldn't respond to these things. Not saying it's not his right, but it makes him look thin-skinned and I feel like it's walking into their trap.
And as someone who's really not a HHH fan, what he said wasn't even a dig.

Seems to imply that TK not wanting to re sign Brandi was the "personal issue" Cody was referring to in his documentary.
Yeah have said it multiple times, but I have long had the funny feeling that even if Brandi was well liked backstage Tony and his inner circle decided that whatever pros Brandi had to the company were outweighed by the cons and Cody's stuff not working made it easier for Tony to just say bye to both
This was probably the moment TK had enough of her.

Triple H being an idiot as usual and if you ask any pro wrestling fan and wrestler not in WWE now, they would easily say AEW is the best promotion going. More people dream of being in AEW then WWE I reckon now and it must hurt Triple H to know that, not to mention AEW is a superior allround product every week compared to whatever rubbish WWE serves up (I never watch WWE so i am assuming so!).

I wouldn't even say AEW being secondary to WWE is even a dig, it's just a factually true statement.

Think you’re leaning a bit too far the other way. AEW is still technically the secondary promotion by any objective metric. As to the actual products, it’s all about taste and plenty of wrestling fans still prefer the WWE product to AEW’s.

Again AEW is clearly the number 2 promotion behind WWE. HOWEVER, we are not getting to a time where indy wrestlers flat out admit they were influenced more by TNA and ROH than they were WWE so you are also seeing talent that don't really see WWE as the end game like you did in the past.
Doesn't mean wrestlers don't want to go to WWE, but it's a different breed now

WWE is a little bit more of a gamble, not knowing what the lay of the land will be once Endeavor fully takes over.

WWE is a little bit more of a gamble, not knowing what the lay of the land will be once Endeavor fully takes over. Oh for sure, and I do think there will be those that go with WWE as well, my point was more that wrestlers in their 20s to mid 30s grew up during an indy boom where there seemed to be just as much of a desire to carve a path to Japan as there was to go to WWE. WWE is still the biggest show, and that's fine but I feel like we've seen a shift where wrestlers see more value in building their own brand independently of WWE. Plus the fact that WWE kind of goes back and forth between wanting to sign indy talent and build their own stars from athletes probably plays a part. Honestly, I think you're gonna see more indy talent start taking short term deals with Impact to get exposure and then look to AEW or WWE rather than go straight to AEW or WWE.

In the end, I think it's worked out well for both Cody and AEW.

My head cannon still remains that he didn't like Punk being there.

My head cannon still remains that he didn't like Punk being there. Yea, even disregarding any of Phil’s baggage he may or may not have as a person, Punk coming in meant he was the guy. It wouldn’t be Cody.
