I give Cody like two, three years tops before he spills every detail of it. Dude clearly wants to blab. it just makes me wonder if he signed an NDA or something...

Wouldn't be shocked especially since the number 2 person in AEW is a lawyer and they saw the headache that came from Swole interviewing and the Brawl Out

My head cannon still remains that he didn't like Punk being there. That could be a possibility, because I remember those stories he and Jericho used to tell about Punk trying to be a “locker room leader” back in WWE. To me, there are only three things that could be that hardline, and none of them is “I want to main event Wrestlemania”. 1) Brandi 2) Money 3) Him fearing Punk in AEW I don’t blame him for any of the three.

What was the time frame that Cody left to CM Punk arriving? In my head it was pretty far apart, which means that if it was #3, Cody had a big heads up on knowing that Punk was headed over.

I doubt Punk was the sole or even primary reason, but I am reminded of that clip that went around of the Elite being asked about working with Punk and Cody just being like, "... Yeah. Yeah, that is a possibility I guess," while clearly being completely deflated.

I barely have time to watch live so I often miss months and months at a time of anything on TV. My timeline is jacked hahaha

He just said in a thing with SRS that if he gets these kind of questions in the future, he’s going to politely ask for a different question because of the “slack” he gets from them. Do Cody and Punk have a history? Besides being in WWE around the same time, not really. Jericho brought up Phil’s “backstage leader” shtick on the cruise and Cody’s said the “Booker T” story aspect of it a couple times. And as mentioned, during that Elite Q&A, when Phil’s name was brought up, Bucks were marking out and Cody just seemed stoic and non-reacting.

Cody: I will never say why I left AEW Everyone: OK Cody: no seriously stop asking me I won't say Everyone: that's fine Cody: it's really good though. Personal. Everyone: OK. Do you want to talk about it? Cody: oh my god stop asking me! I'll never tell!

If I can say two nice things about Brandi:
1) I really enjoyed her on-screen throughout the entirety of Cody's ROH run and I felt she added a lot to both his character and the weekly program as a whole.
2) Her getting sensory-inclusive involvement so early on in AEW was, not just a wonderful thing for a community that so often gets ignored at wrestling events, but she really brought enough positive attention towards it and showcased it in a wonderful light.
As for Cody and AEW - as an enthusiastic longtime supporter of both - I don't want to speculate too much but I want to throw out that Cody specifically said it had nothing to do with any talent, so I wouldn't rule out the personal issue being possibly something network related. Again, I'm basing that on nothing but process of elimination, and if you look at all that Cody was doing for the Turner networks (the Go Big show, Rhodes to the Top, co-hosting the New Years countdown, etc.) he's interacted with a lot of people who have that *indirect* relationship with AEW that could have lead to a frustrating personal issue. Purely speculation on my part, I may be completely off, but if we can trust Cody at his word that it wasn't anything related to a talent then it's in the realm of possibility.

Mans is thin skinned beyond belief. Good grief Why do people always wait to call Khan "Thin Skinned" for a response when HHH is the one who called the promotion secondary on television in front of the world? It was a shit thing to do and Khan is right to flex how good All In is doing, that HHH comment was lame and had no reason to even be said.

Speaking as someone who met the fella when he was freelancing a few times, he's an intelligent carny. There's still a possibility for him to return as long as there's no bad blood, and he did the same for the 'E now. I'd be more shocked if there was some Sean Oliver interview with Cody doing "what's in the bag" than I am now with him playing all nice and switzerland.

Mans is thin skinned beyond belief. Good grief …because he took a question that was asking him to indulge in potential drama and turned it into a chance to hype up his company’s presence in a market? That was the literal opposite of the “thin skinned” approach.

AEW has taken more shots at WWE than WWE has taken at AEW, Especially on air. Neither company are innocent when it comes to taking shots. What HHH said wasn't wrong, and imo wasn't taken a shot at AEW. Both sides can be right in this. People who say this isn't a big deal and not dig at AEW, are right imo. And people who say that Kahn should take up for his company if he felt it was a dig, are also correct imo.
