Thread to discuss potential Dark Side of the Ring Season 5 ideas and episodes.
I have not heard if the Dark Side of the Ring crew has been approved for another season or if they even want to do another season.
What episodes would you like to see if this show goes to season 5?

- Scott Hall (rumored for season 4 but didn't come together, would be a good opening or ending to season 5) - Heroes of Wrestling PPV - Terry Funk - The British Bulldog - Jim The Anvil Neidhart - Billy Jack Haynes - Sherri Mattel - GWF - DiBiase family - The Ringboy Scandal

Black Saturday (reportedly made but unaired yet) Lance Von Erich Mr. Wrestling II Tony Atlas Brutus Beefcake Dennis Rodman (I'm going to keep pitching that one, there's lots of potential there, with stuff like him skipping practice for a Nitro appearance, though I'm not sure if they could get Hogan or Karl Malone, let alone any Bulls teammates)

Actually, an episode on the WWF's battle with the PTC could be interesting, and likely the only time you could have a story where Vince comes off as the sympathetic one.

Sucks, I guess I should say, they still exist, even if their influence has fallen dramatically ever since their heyday.

Too soon for a real explanation behind the WWE Crown Jewel 2019 and the 'travel delays'?

Too soon for a real explanation behind the WWE Crown Jewel 2019 and the 'travle delays'? we'll probably never know the real story there. If I have to guess I'd bet that all WWE employees had to sign NDAs to even go on the Saudi trips. As for interesting Dark Side episodes: 1) Brock Lesnar leaving the WWE and his legal battle to get out of a 10 year no compete and his various side quests into the NFL and UFC would probably be interesting. Not sure how much DARK material is there though. 2) Ultimo Scumbag Paul Heyman probably has enough for an entire season. 3) Saga of Great Antonio would be niche but very interesting. Everyone knows about him not cooperating and pissing off Inoki but he did the same exact thing years earlier to Rikidozan..with predictable results and was probably involved in getting his as kicked in the ring for real more than anyone in wrestling history. 4) Kurt Angle's Death Spiral and Resurrection.

- The Nexus burial in 2010 (let's be honest this is easly one of the most hated Matchoutcomes Ever and would fit for a Episode i think)
- Paul Heyman ECW
- Brock Lesnar's Rise in 2002 and why he left in 2004.
- Did the Mike Awesome Episode ever happened? Or did i missed it?
- Cm Punk's WWE Walkout to today is a worthy Episode easly. The Trial with that Doctor and Punk's breakup with Cabana. Then the Media Scrum at All Out that basically happened too because of the Cabana Podcast/Lawsuit.

Once again, Eddie Gilbert.
Kevin Sullivan (it was so jarring to see him show up on The Legend of Mick Dodge years ago as an arboreal forest dweller in Washington state).
Chris Adams.

The ringboy scandal one would be hard to do with Tom Cole (the whistleblower in the whole thing) being dead.

Another that wouldbe good but isn't known outside the south
The incident that caused the Louisiana comission to majorly regulate wrestling. A wrestler got his neck broke in the ring from a piledriver. And now there is so many rules for wrestling in LA that is is close to how Oregon is.
Right now a fed in LA,Pro Wrestling 225 is trying to fight to comission and make it where all feds in the state get treated equally. For example WWE can do piledrivers and nothing. But BIW or 225 can't or get fined.

Chris Colt-If you don't know this is google him. Chris Colt would be a great one, even by wrestling standards his life trajectory was absolutely nuts. Also, as you alluded to, he’s a pretty niche one so it wouldn’t be a retread of something everyone already knows. Buck Zumhofe and Bob Sweetan are prime candidates for this in that what they did was incredibly dark (to put it charitably) but I also wonder if anyone who knows would be willing to talk about what they did. I would like to see more non-US/Canada ones too, Mexico has plenty of things to cover, and the demise of TV wrestling in Britain is a tale of death and deceit.

I still want the Knoxville wrestling war, “Plan B” video, and the effects on wrestling in the area afterwards. Bonus points if they bust on Terry Landell and get some comments on him from Cornette. Most of the key players are still alive, including the leaders of both sides, promoter Ron Fuller and ringleader Bob Roop, who had previously tried to take over San Francisco and killed the territory.
The separate violent incidents in Memphis in 1973 - Mario Galento attacking Jerry Jarrett (allegedly after the encouragement of promoter Roy Welch) and Tojo Yamomoto (and depending on which side you believe, possibly Jerry Jarrett and, I think, Eddie Marlin) on “Dandy” Jack Donovan. The stories are fascinating, the problem here is that the key players are no longer with us and I’m not sure who would talk about it besides maybe Cornette and Meltzer for a historian aspect. Maybe Lawler and Jeff Jarrett.
Ron Wright vs the fans. Very niche because he didn’t really work outside of East Tennessee and southeastern Kentucky, but holy shit. The man had a scar that went from the base of his neck to his waistline from a fan slashing him, his car was shot at, his private plane burned and, more comically, a waitress in a diner shoved a pie in his face immediately upon recognizing him. Ron Fuller, Cornette, Les Thatcher, and maybe Dirty White Boy could share some stories. It could also go into his bloody feud with local hero Whitey Caldwell that only ended when Whitey was killed by a drunk driver and Ron took his place in his next scheduled match. The two were actually friends and Ron had to be smuggled into the funeral home after hours to pay his respects to protect kayfabe. Stories in this one would be tremendous and often hilarious.
