There has to be an episode about Chyna's Rise & Fall Test being looked at being the next big thing, having his career go downhill and his death. Brian Christopher Japanese Wrestling & The Yakuza Chyna got a whole separate Vice documentary. She’s unlikely to get a Dark Side episode. Not that the material isn’t there, but it’s been covered by the same parent company.

I’m surprised I’m the first to suggest an obvious one: Teddy Hart.

Japanese Wrestling & The Yakuza Nobody that lives or works in Japan would go on record though, so that would stop that episode. Remember Tajiri was terrified about his gimmick in WWE being tied to Yakuza and wanted to WWE to drop it. Is there a book or two on the ties between wrestling in the Yakuza? It's something I've heard about a lot but would love a good read on.

After Brian passed, it sounded like Jerry Lawler was going after the prison for suspicious death. Is that still ongoing? Has Jerry Lawler done interviews with Dark Side of the Ring before?

Last I heard Lawler still is looking into Brian's death. I haven't seen Jerry so far on Darkside. As far as Teddy Hart...we already got the Peacock docu series on him. Bad enough when over half the DSOTR episodes eacch season have nothing in them I haven't already heard 100 times. No need to rehash something that has already been covered recently.

It's something I've heard about a lot but would love a good read on. This is not exclusively about wrestling but wrestling and the career of Rikidozan takes up a good portion of it. It talks about how wrestling became so big in post-war Japan and how both Japanese and Korean gangs (the two often interchangeable) got their fingers in the pie. Lots of other interesting stories too. www.amazon.com/Tokyo-Underworld-American-Gangster-Departures-ebook/dp/B0043M4YYE

- Scott Hall (rumored for season 4 but didn't come together, would be a good opening or ending to season 5) - Heroes of Wrestling PPV - Terry Funk - The British Bulldog - Jim The Anvil Neidhart - Billy Jack Haynes - Sherri Mattel - GWF - DiBiase family - The Ringboy Scandal Terry Funk? Please explain a reason for that one. I agree about the rest though. That'd make a great season.

Suppose Terry would be a more light hearted episode, going over the damage he took over the years and his numerous unretirements. Guess it doesnt all have to be doom and gloom sex drugs and death

Joey Ryan seems like an obvious one.
Speaking Out as a whole seems less likely due to so much of it hitting BritWres.

How about an episode on Vader's career. It wasn't wild like Jannetty, but he had highs and lows in most major wrestling companies and the incident in Kuwait would be fun to have a look at.
The WWE-Saudi Arabia detained flight.
Crash Holly
Kamala
Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart - time in Stampede / meeting Harts, NJPW, WWF, WCW, back to the WWF, back to WCW, lawsuits, getting fired, indy highs and lows, demons.

Turns out he was always that way.

Bobby Heenan. Doesnt sound like a candidate, but I read on the history of wwe website that on New Years Day 1991 he collapsed on an airplane and they found a bunch of marijuana and narcotics on him, not to mention his alcohol problems and his sad later years, then again, that may be too depressing (and I dont think his daughter would want to appear in such an episode).

Time to throw my hat in the ring. Among the episodes for DSOTR that I'd want to see for season 5 & beyond would be the following (This might be a long one):
The Renegade, Scott Hall, The Hardy Boyz, NJPW's Inoki-Ism era (Heck, Inoki himself would make for another episode!), Daffney Unger, WCW & ECW's demises (followed up by the InVasion angle), The Sandman, Impact Wrestling (though this one would be predictable and possibly worth an entire season), The Kliq, The Eliminators, Ring Of Honor's history, CM Punk, The Speaking Out Movement, Notorious Trainers (The GAEA documentary, NJPW's Dojo, WCW's Power Plant & Bill DeMott), Heroes Of Wrestling & The Authority angle (among others).

What about Demolition? There was an almost 10-year battle between the WWF and them (especially Bill Eadie) over the rights to the gimmick, which could be one factor as to why they’re not in the HOF.

Hope you enjoyed it! Coincidentally, Crime in Sports gave us another wrestling themed episode this week that would make for a great DSOTR episode, Rockin' Rebel. CiS didn't have much research material to go off of because Rebel wasn't very famous. Hopefully DSOTR could get some interviews with some guys that knew him.
