Just as the thread states. What was one of the worst, nonsenscial reasons to get behind the (presented) face in their feuds?
Ken Patera vs. The Heenan Family: The former Intercontinental Champion was a credible heel in the pre-Hulkamania and early Hulkamania era. Spending two years in prison for throwing a rock into a McDonald's restaraunt for denying him service, the former Olympian came back with a vengeance....against his former manager Bobby "The Brain" Heenan.
His explanation to all this was Heenan told him to do it(as if he can't make his own decisions as a full grown man) and then he sold him down the river for not visiting him while he spent time in prison. If you watched the debate, it made Patera come off as a whiny bitch. He was going to start a feud with the Heenan Family, but he ruptured his bicep before the feud really began.
So here's the breakdown: He was a former heel. He goes to prison for throwing a temper tantrum over hamburgers. Blames his former manager.
How are we suppose to get behind him for that?
Millionaires Club vs. The New Blood:On-screen and off screen, you had a bunch of young talent who are frustrated about being held back by the older veterans. Howevers, the Millionaires Clubs are the FACES in this. It was basically the NWO vs. WCW, except with the roles reversed. Not to mention The Millionaires Club sounds like a bunch of pompous heels who think they're better than everyone.
Any examples you can think of?

What was even more confusing about the New Blood was that it had many members who had been wrestling since the 80s including Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner, and Shane Douglas.

Kane somehow being the face against Snitsky for causing Lita to miscarry after originally stealing her from Matt Hardy and forcing Lita to marry him in the first place

Molly Holly is a prude so Trish Stratus calls her fat. Trish is the face.

Randy Orton for getting kicked out of Evolution What I came in here to say. Dude was a huge jerk for like two years, and did nothing to redeem himself yet we were supposed to cheer for him.

Randy Orton for getting kicked out of Evolution EC3 turning face in Impact because Tyrus turned against him, too.

The Ken Patera storyline would have been a lot more effective if he came back and Heenan wanted him to go back to business as usual, but Patera is changed, having been rehabilitated, and the Heenan family beats him up for going soft. Sells the whole "paying my debt to society, I am a changed man" narrative and makes Heenan a dick for being mad he's turned over a new leaf.

F***ing Gunner in TNA had "I'm a veteran" as the sole reason why they wanted people to cheer him. Yeah, no.

F***ing Gunner in TNA had "I'm a veteran" as the sole reason why they wanted people to cheer him. Yeah, no. You know, I remember seeing him on a card at the NWA Legends Fanfest years ago as Phil Shatter and thinking he had a bright future. His work was good, his look was solid, and apparently he was on his best behavior that weekend because he came off as very likable. The more time went on, the less likely it looked until his retirement was barely a blip.

F***ing Gunner in TNA had "I'm a veteran" as the sole reason why they wanted people to cheer him. Yeah, no. f***ING GUNNER had a friend who had PTSD so that's good enough for him to treat Samuel Shaw on his psychotic episodes towards Christy Hemme.

Randy Orton for getting kicked out of Evolution What I came in here to say. Dude was a huge jerk for like two years, and did nothing to redeem himself yet we were supposed to cheer for him. Not just a huge jerk, but constantly had his asshole friends bailing him out of situations. The dude never got his comeuppance, and we're supposed to cheer him because those same asshole friends who would bail him out of ass kickings were the ones to kick his ass.

Randy Orton for getting kicked out of Evolution Likewise, Seth getting kicked out of the Authority. It just felt like karma for Seth betraying the Shield years earlier.

Eddie Edwards, 2018. Dude, you said you would drive to Dayton to put the wives of the Crist brothers in hospital if they didn't come to the ring, you broke down in front of Tommy Dreamer and screamed at him for stopping you from murdering Sami Callihan which you told Impact management you were going to do. Why in the blue hells would I want to cheer for you against anyone?
The only reason anyone would have to cheer Eddie in his feud with Austin Aries was that he wasn't Austin Aries.

Randy Orton for getting kicked out of Evolution Likewise, Seth getting kicked out of the Authority. It just felt like karma for Seth betraying the Shield years earlier. It was so bad that Triple H outright made fun of him for only actually apologizing for any of his actions, like ending the Shield, weeks into the feud, saying that finally Seth had an epiphany that maybe he shares any blame for what happened. Seth saying he'd go to Triple H and Stephanie's home in a promo with her, and "WHAT IF ONE OF YOUR DAUGHTERS ANSWERED THE DOOR" (paraphrasing), and I think they were trying to suggest he'd beat up Triple H in front of them, but it instead sounding like he was going to assault their children, is like three times worse than Matt Hardy's car wreck promo. Steph just looked stunned and the audience went basically silent.
