Surprised Mox's initial NJPW run hasn't been mentioned, with the return to the trunks for the first time since what, FCW? I still think it wasn't a bad look, it was just like... Raven in trunks level of jarring after how many years of looking how he had. Speaking of Mox, was this a short term transitional period for him?

I knew Adonis wrestled in WWF a little while after getting his hair cut at WM 3. But I did not recognize him here at all, if it wasn't for the caption, I would have assumed this was someone that Young Verne Gagne faced on the DuMont Network.

The WWF War Zone roster is so weird because it basically captures a group of guys that were only around together for a few weeks in October 1997:

D'Lo Brown's 2008 WWE return that I don't think anyone remembers.

By the time it came out...Bret and Davey were gone. Ahmed was barely relevant. I don't think he was injured, but his push was absolutely gone by this point. Mankind was a full blown face, yet programmed as a heel. Goldust somehow got in as a heel even though he literally just turned heel again and despite this, his vignettes being more aligned his his Hollywood gimmick, not his F.U. persona...and I'm guessing his vignettes were shot when he was a face? So that is still a weird choice. Mosh and Thrasher were cool, but I think the focus being to become champion would have been more relevant if they had Hawk and Animal instead. Again, by the time the game came out, Headbangers were probably the 4th most relevant tag team. And Vince McMahon was also gone from commentary.

Also Shawn doing his promos while face yet the game programs him as a heel and his DX music plays. I believe these were filmed in 1996. Also HHH being programmed as a heel, dressed as the Connecticut blue blood yet the DX music plays. The British Bulldog being included was BIZARRE.

Again, by the time the game came out, Headbangers were probably the 4th most relevant tag team. And Vince McMahon was also gone from commentary. WWF WarZone is a hodgepodge of different points of 97-98 WWF, with the vignettes, roster, and final alignments being in completely different timeframes from each other. The vignettes were clearly shot mid-1997, the roster itself only exists in full from October 97 with Kane's debut until November 97 with Bret and Bulldog leaving, and the final alignments were set to around late April to early May 1998. Ahmed Johnson was also gone by then, and those three wrestlers were given the alignments they had when they left. These timeframe convergences cause a lot of weirdness, like Faarooq and Rocky being in the Nation of Domination, but Rocky's vignettes are clearly pre-Nation Rocky Maivia, while Faarooq is a babyface because he was kicked out of The Nation just after Mania when the alignments are decided. Shawn Michaels and Triple H both have vignettes of their pre-DX characters with Shawn clearly cutting babyface promos and Triple H talking like the Blue Blood, but both are using the D-X theme and Shawn even has his green and black D-X gear. However, Hunter is still a heel which puts the final alignments within a specific couple week timeframe, because he would almost immediately turn face after that time to feud with Rock's Nation. This is easy to figure out because the last turn to take place before the alignment cutoff is Owen Hart, who is a heel in this game, and that happens on the final Raw of April when he turns on Shamrock and joins The Nation. By mid-May, Triple H's D-X would drift face to feud with Rock and Owen's still heel Nation. But of course, Owen's vignettes are that of Hart Foundation Owen and not the Black hart. All of Mick Foley's gimmicks are heels, which sort of makes sense because Mick turned heel post-Mania to be Austin's first title feud, but it was Dude Love that primarily did that angle. Cactus was never heel in the WWF, and though Foley would be playing heel Mankind again when the game finally came out, he would be sporting the dress shirt look by that time. Goldust is tricky because although Dustin was heel when it came out, he was neither Goldust or TAFKA Goldust, but was born-again Dustin Rhodes. Both Goldust and TAFKA Goldust have attires in the game, but they shifted the TAFKA Goldust attire to the alt attire, when chronologically, it should be the first one. Maybe it was for continuity with the regular Goldust vignettes, or maybe because the TAFKA attire was just really bizarre. But at least the alignment made sense.

we could say that Kane's full on cloak is lost to time as well Yet oddly enough, it's immortalized with not one, but two action figures.

Not sure if this counts exactly, but when Earthquake debuted he was the Canadian Earthquake. I asked him why they dropped it, way back in the WC days, he said he didn’t know, maybe they wanted him to be an international Earthquake!
Guess this falls into any number of guys who had slight name changes.

Guess this falls into any number of guys who had slight name changes. The rumour I head was they changed it at or just before WrestleMania 6 because they didn't want him getting face reactions. Bit too young to have been watching the TV shows so I don't know how the timing lined up. They may have just thought it was too long a name, Survivor Series 89 they were using both but more just plain Earthquake.
