Thought this might be fun - I'll try to do it maybe once a week? Once every few days? Basically, you comment which show you'd watch based on the opening match. Try not to cheat and look at the rest of the show.
I thought we'd start with 26 years ago - Monday, December 8th, 1997.
Raw
Godwinns vs LOD
OR
Nitro
Ray Traylor vs Konnan
OOF...tough start. What do you choose?

Raw. The Godwinns and OLD are both watchable. I don't think I've ever seen a good Konnan match.

Nitro
Somehow, WCW seemed to stay pretty fresh with who they had out there, whereas WWF was promoting Los Boriquas, Tom Brandi, Truth Commission, Barry Windham, "the NWA", and whatnot.
Things would change by mid 1998, but just the general presentation of Nitro week after week was great. Just about everyone looked like a star, no matter how low on the card they were. Even guys like Marty Jannetty got that awesome music!

Nitro, this was a few weeks before Starrcade 97 and the hype was crazy, you didn't want to miss a moment of Nitro.
I would usually change the channel whenever the Godwinns were on.

Raw. The Godwinns and OLD are both watchable. I don't think I've ever seen a good Konnan match. Just throwing it out there, the match where Konnan lost his mask in Mexico is one of the most emotive performances you'll ever see in a wrestling ring. The crowd was visibly sobbing. If you were ever to watch one Konnan match, that'd be one to check out.

I'd go Nitro if I were picking now, as I am a Traylor fan and Konnan had his moments. I never got into the Godwinns, really.

Nitro, liked Konnan back in the day and rewatching WCW I'm realising Bossman was a better wrestler than I remembered.

Also, if we're going to talk about going to an event around this time, I would pick Nitro. The audience atmosphere was easily far more fun than WWF. This is a crowd who would lose their mind for some of the most standard maneuvers. If I'm at Raw, chances are that I'm dodging edgy obnoxious poster boards the whole time.

Nitro is building to Starrcade, Raw is either the go home or the show after that awful DeGeneration X ppv. Nitro, no contest.

I went to a Nitro in June of that year and it was so much fun. Being in a packed arena, chanting for Sting? Nothing like it.

Fun, Nitro wins 9-5.
Next up, since Nitro is 1-0, lets do the start of the Nitro winning streak during the wars - June 17th, 1996
NITRO
Rick Steiner vs Stevie Ray
OR
RAW
Steve Austin vs Savio Vega

Raw, for sure. I never got into Stevie Ray as a solo or Rick that much in general, so Austin vs Savio is the easy choice.

Probably Raw but neither of those exactly sounds good.
