I want to believe you're explicitly talking about current WOW and not early 2000s WOW, right? I am. Look, I was making more emphasis to early 2000s WOW. I know things changed in the reboot.

Early 2000s I saw very little I'll admit but I don't have any positive memories of it so I'm guessing I didn't enjoy it that much.

Tell us what we didn't understand about this Russo, you coward! Honestly, I'm not sure even he knows what he was going for with the pirate duo.

Someone beat him to it with WEW. I remember they had a slutty nurse, and army girl called G.I. Ho and I think Mickie James as a Native American/First nations gimmick. Toned down compared to what Russo wrote but still very much in line with what they were going for.

Now I wanna know if Russo had any specific wrestlers in mind for each part, or if he just came up with the characters and was gonna audition them. Honestly, this was my first reaction: Did he really come up with not one, but TWO very specific amputee gimmicks in the hopes of finding wrestlers to fill them? If so, that might be the most ass backward thinking Iβve ever heard.

I can't with Beastie Alleyππππππ
first time I've laughed and had milk come out of my nose since 7th grade.
How does a human being conjure this up? HOW?
I thought Cornette was a bit much with his Russo bashing, maybe a bit too harsh and vitriolic towards him
I was wrong, Cornette if anything has been too soft on him with these kinds of revelations

I'm shocked he missed the opportunity to have a tag team called "Tish & Ashe"

Now that I've read the thread and the list of names. My thoughts are ''WTF dude?'' I thought I was childish when I was playing an old Football management game and typed in ''shit'' when searching for a player and it came up with one! Knowing Russo he was probably gonna audition them. Women of Wrestling at least has some decent matches in it. I'm genuinely amazed, and relieved, that Russo was never rehired to WWE after WCW died.I was thinking Disney. Now, now. There's no need to insult jackasses. I think Cornette will be ecstatic. Gives him an excuse to rant and rave about his beloved Russo even more. Isn't Extreme Women's Wrestling the one where Mercedes Martinez had a feud with a Japanese woman where the loser had to be deported from the USA for a month? He was rehired. In June 2002, he was brought back to run creative. However, unlike in 1998-1999 where he and Ed Ferrara were pretty much the whole writing staff, WWE now had an entire team of writers. It was quickly decided the whole thing was a bad fit, and Russo went to TNA. Didn't he immediately suggest doing ANOTHER WCW invasion and got basically a reaction of, "okay, this isn't going to work"?

I also want to say he suggested or said something that pissed off The Undertaker as well.

According to Brian Gerwirtz's book, Russo... - asked if HHH vs. Jericho had ever been done, leading Michael Hayes to inform him that they just closed WrestleMania a few months earlier - pushed for Chyna and Road Dogg to be re-hired to bring back DX - wanted to strip Undertaker of the title and have a tournament that Rob Van Dam would win, saying his son and his son's friends were big on RVD; there would be no reason given on-air for stripping Undertaker of the title - pushed for a Eric Bischoff-led WCW faction to feud with a WWE faction lead by Shane McMahon, saying "everyone knows of the heat between them"; Gerwirtz was basically like "Do they though?" - didn't understand why there was a whole writers staff now when it was because Vince McMahon decided when Russo jumped to WCW to not depend on just 1-2 writers anymore

Yeah, it'd be one thing if he just said, "This RVD is really something, we should push him hard", like that's a pretty defensible position, and he did have a relatively hip fanbase. It makes logical sense. But, his version of pushing him just would make RVD look like an idiot and probably didn't do RVD any favors to even have suggested for him, especially given how petty wrestling can be.

Yeah, I mean I liked RVD but if what Russo apparently wanted to happen had happened than it wouldn't have been good for him in anyway IMO.

It goes to Vince just not understanding wrestling on a basic fundamental level. He doesn't understand that yes the belts are "props" but they only mean something if you treat them like they mean something. RVD just having the title without like earning it... or having a reason why Undertaker doesn't literally is meaningless. This is also the person that allegedly said they didn't understand the concept of faces and heels... so...
