Cool, so we're going to get the same ending we should have gotten at Wrestlemania 39 after an entire year of absolutely nothing worthwhile happening with Roman's title reign and all the good things the story had going for it thoroughly wasted.

I been telling people for months that Cody was good but Punk's return and Rock's name being thrown in really had people thinking he wasn't. Cody's fine and this showed it. I'm glad it was him. As for Punk, he's going to win Elimination Chamber and go against Seth. Makes the most sense.
I'm glad it's done this way because hell, Punk's ok and all but Cody was clearly in better condition. Punk needs to do more cardio.

Yeah, I’m glad Cody won. And I hope he beats Roman at Mania. It would be such a missed opportunity not to pay this off.

Yeah, I’m glad Cody won. And I hope he beats Roman at Mania. It would be such a missed opportunity not to pay this off. They've put so much into Cody post-WM39. He's been booked as strong as possible, where he wasn't been beaten relatively clean (the loss versus Brock is debatable) in singles action in 2023. They gave him WarGames and the big win. They let him win back-to-back Rumbles, and the cover for WWE 2K24 is focused on him. Would be more than a missed opportunity if Roman wins again.

Probably been said but if someone in January 2022 was like 'the final two in the men's rumble in 2 years will be Cody and Punk' you'd have had them committed.

I enjoyed Summerslam but besides that it’s been a whole bunch of nothing.

I know it had to have been mentioned already but I like that Orton basically spoiled this without people knowing when he said that the only number that will matter will be 15.

Have Cody challenge at EC so Rock can get the WM match and Roman can get to SummerSlam or Saudi or something. Cody's missing that something now. A climb back up, a major set back, an obstacle that haunted him, something that makes this time mean more. Too much holding pattern and it hurt him, imo. I can’t comment directly on the product since I don’t watch it week to week, but it did seem odd to me just how directionless Cody seemed for much of the year when I’d read results; a lot of repetitive Raw main events against Judgment Day, no real obstacles back up the mountain, etc. And again, the stories he and Roman got post-WM last year really felt inverted, like they only made sense if Cody had won the title. Fans still seem very much behind so no harm, I guess, but it kind of read like he and Roman could’ve just taken the year off between Manias (I know, the Jey storyline, but Roman’s matches remain the same). But if they’re serious about this, they have to have Cody win at Mania. If they don’t, he’s toast from a kayfabe/fan’s perspective, and I think you run a real risk of even Roman fans starting to turn against that title reign. He did feud with the Judgment Day a bit (they were a huge part of Raw this year), but he also had long extended blood feuds with Lesnar and Shinsuke that took up most of the last 7 months since Mania.

Hope Cody wins, then I can't start watching again...
I stopped watching because I couldn't stand Reigns and it was clear he was going to be the face of the WWE. I just couldn't be f***ed watching a show built around a wrestler I found utterly boring and seeing better and more talented guys losing to him constantly.
